Al-Qaeda message condemns Obama

The second-in-command of Islamic militant network al-Qaeda has hit out at US President-elect Barack Obama.

In a message purportedly from Ayman al-Zawahiri, the al-Qaeda deputy called Mr Obama a "house negro" - a demeaning term implying he served white people.

Mr Obama's plan to bolster the US military presence in Afghanistan would fail, Zawahiri said.

If genuine, the message would be the first acknowledgement by al-Qaeda of the president-elect's victory.

The audio message appeared on militant websites.

Zawahiri, an Egyptian by birth, is often referred to as Osama Bin Laden's right-hand man and the chief ideologue of al-Qaeda.

In the short message he warned Mr Obama of failure if he followed Bush administration policies in the Middle East and Afghanistan.

He also criticised Mr Obama - whose father is Muslim - for abandoning his Islamic roots.

"You were born to a Muslim father, but you chose to stand with the enemies of Muslims," he said.

On Sunday, in his first television interview since his 4 November election win, Mr Obama reiterated his commitment to shift more US troops to war-torn Afghanistan.

Stamping out al-Qaeda "once and for all" was a top priority, he said, and capturing or killing Osama Bin Laden was "critical" to US security.

Al-Quaeda threatening Obama? Welcome to the White House, Obama......

Through the months, RR members discussed the threats that may come his way because he would be seen as a traitor to Islam since he left his father's faith. Well, it looks like its happening. Interesting...... Obama has threats coming from so many directions!!! Good grief! He's going to need A LOT OF SECURITY during his reign as "ruler."

I'm not crazy about our POTUS elect but I will pray for his safety.... :pray

IMHO, Al-Qaeda is threatening Obamanation because Obamanation is going to side with Hezbollah. Obama has said he wants to go into Afghanistan to "rid" the World of Al-Quaeda and the Taliban. Aren't Al-Qaeda enemies of Hezbollah??

Seems to me that Obama is going to help the Hezbollah cause if he strikes Afghanistan.

IMHO, Obama has already made his decision as he has already made statements about his demands that Israel go back to their 1949 boarders. Obama is Pro-Palestinian. It's the Sunnis against the Sheikhs.

From his book "the Audacity of Hope" Obama says "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Al Qaeda has nothing to worry about. :tsk

I hear you.

My husband also preached tonight on the AC and one thing he taught that stuck out in my head was, "He will have no regard for his father's religion." I keep telling myself, Obama is not the AC, Obama is not the AC, Obama is not the AC...

Muslim countries and terrorists HATE the US period. It doesn't matter who the president is.

Ha ha! I keep telling myself the same thing.

Actually he didn't and to continue repeating that he did will be to knowingly and willingly break the ninth commandment. The actual quote from the book is

"Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Exactly what that *standing with them* means remains to be seen, imo.

He did not in the book make the quote attributed to him by BarbT though. To continue to claim he did breaks the ninth commandment and to not correct those who continue to say he did condones their breaking of the ninth.
