Then David comforted his wife, Bathsheba, and went in to her and lay with her, and she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. And the LORD loved him and sent a message by Nathan the prophet. So he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD. --2Sa 12:24-25

hi because he was humble in the sight of lord in asking god for wisdom instead of riches or whatever at all he could ask off god and also before he was born the lord new his heart that he would love him. also as he lived his life decisions were made some good some not so good one decision led him astray another brought blessings from the lord. and his failures our blessings too heed the word off the lord and avoid the wrong decison which bring pain and miserie.

Hey bro!
Well, I agree that the Lord knew king Solomon's heart, and knew that like any other man, Solomon's heart was desperately wicked (even though he was the 2nd wisest man). Solomon broke all the laws that were made for Israel kings, e.g., in aquiring way too many things than what was set by the laws, and marrying Egyptian woman, etc. Yet, the Bible says, "the Lord loved him." This love clearly was not merited by something in Solomon. So then, why did God love him and not the Egyptians, for example?
