This is an amazing site for Bible study, called the Boston Christian Bible Study Resources. Steve Amato sends out mini-devotionals every day which have really blessed me. Just thought I would share it!

Here is a sample.

Offended by the Cross?

Gal 5:11 "Brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished."

What was so offensive about the message of the cross? Elsewhere Paul writes, "the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1Cor 1:18 And "we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles"1Cor 1:23

One reason the message of the cross is offensive is because it calls us to abandon any reliance upon religious ritualism for salvation. And that may be particularly offensive to the religious elite, like among those of Islam for example, who end up losing constituents. In contrast, the message of circumcision is, "Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved." Acts 15:1 But you could just as well turn that into the general statement,"Unless you are _____________, according to the custom taught by ________, you cannot be saved." That's one aspect of the message of legalism.

Kinda looks like it's mid-Trib? Please correct me if I'm wrong...

Edited to add:

Yup....he's post-Trib:

from the link- "Being skeptical of popular opinion I did my own Bible study on the subject and have concluded that the Bible teaches an exclusively post-trib resurrection/rapture. "

That is something I was not aware of (and it's a shame!!) but the rest of his commentaries are good! Sometimes I use these mini devotions with the kids in the morning before they go off to school, and they are great.

"The cheap shot is a little concerning (just writing it off as popular opinion), but nonetheless, nobody's theology is perfect. :) The commentaries can stand on their own.

Please remember the rules of the board when posting. [15] This board is Pre-Tribulational Rapture and Pre-Millennial Dispensational in it's view of End Times Prophecy. We are not Pre-Wrath, Post, or Mid- Trib and for the sake of staying within our scriptural position and keeping the peace, all discussions on this topic must follow suit. Our Lord Jesus Christ told us that we don't know the day or hour of His return and to always be ready and keep watch.
