I believe it will be Moses and Elijah. The argument that it has to be Enoch and Elijah because everyone must die, well... Ya know... If the rapture happens in our lifetime, WE arent going to die, either, along with millions of other believers. So that argument doesnt hold up.

Holding a "NEW BORN" is as close as we'll ever come to experiencing the kind of "LOVE" God has for "US". :hug

...Bottom line is that we dont know for sure because Scripture doesnt tell us for certain. In fact, there is no scriptural reason why they even have to be anyone you have ever heard of before.

The best general position to hold, Hoot. Here is a short list of the names I have heard proposed, along with the general reasoning behind:

- Enoch & Elijah (didn't see death?)

- Elijah & Moses (shown at Transfiguration)

- Elijah & John the Baptist (a conclusive fulfillment of "Elijahs")

- Joshua & Zerubbabel (High Priest & Governor of Judea during Haggai & Zechariah's ministries. Zerubbabel was prophesied by Haggai to have some position of power in the end times)

- Two Unknowns (for reason Hoot gave)

Take your pick(s). If it turns out being people we know, then my current leaning is toward Elijah & John the Baptist.

HERE ARE THE ONLY PASSAGES I WAS ABLE TO FIND ABOUT THEM, DID A QUICK SEARCH SO THERE ARE PROBABLY MORE.

Zechariah

ZEC4:1 "Then the angel who was speaking with me returned, and roused me as a man who is awakened from his sleep."

ZEC4:2 "And he said to me, ""What do you see?"" And I said, ""I see, and behold, a lampstand all of gold with its bowl on the top of it, and its seven lamps on it with seven spouts belonging to each of the lamps which are on the top of it;"

ZEC4:3 "also two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl and the other on its left side. """

ZEC4:4 "Then I answered and said to the angel who was speaking with me saying, ""What are these, my lord?"""

ZEC4:5 "So the angel who was speaking with me answered and said to me, ""Do you not know what these are?"" And I said, ""No, my lord."""

ZEC4:6 "Then he answered and said to me, ""This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel saying, 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts."

ZEC4:7 "'What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel [you will become] a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone with shouts of ""Grace, grace to it!""' """

ZEC4:8 "Also the word of the LORD came to me saying,"

ZEC4:9 "The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will finish [it.] Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you."

ZEC4:10 For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven will be glad when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel-- [these are] the eyes of the LORD which range to and fro throughout the earth.

ZEC4:11 "Then I answered and said to him, ""What are these two olive trees on the right of the lampstand and on its left?"""

ZEC4:12 "And I answered the second time and said to him, ""What are the two olive branches which are beside the two golden pipes, which empty the golden [oil] from themselves?"""

ZEC4:13 "So he answered me saying, ""Do you not know what these are?"" And I said, ""No, my lord."""

ZEC4:14 "Then he said, ""These are the two anointed ones, who are standing by the Lord of the whole earth."""

REVELATION

REV11:3 "And I will grant [authority] to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."

REV11:4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.

REV11:5 "And if anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies; and if anyone would desire to harm them, in this manner he must be killed."

REV11:6 "These have the power to shut up the sky, in order that rain may not fall during the days of their prophesying; and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they desire."

REV11:7 "And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them."

REV11:8 "And their dead bodies [will lie] in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified."

REV11:9 "And those from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations [will] look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb."

REV11:10 "And those who dwell on the earth [will] rejoice over them and make merry; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth."

REV11:11 "And after the three and a half days the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were beholding them."

REV11:12 "And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, ""Come up here."" And they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies beheld them."

REV11:13 "And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; and seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven."

BTW, MY VOTE IS MOSES AND ELIJAH :hat

Enoch and Elijah. They were taken away and didn't die. When they return they will be killed ay the anti-christ fulfilling what Jesus said that all men must die and face death.

2 people born for this, nobody from the bible, they may not even know who they are, (probably don't yet) and when the time comes they will just take their positions as God leads them and will begin as God wills, and they will make the world and the AC and the prophet so angry.
They will be spiritually protected.

i think it will be Moses and Elijah for the fact that they represent the Law and the Prophets.and also for the plagues they send also.

Never really gave that one much consideration. I figured it would just be two angels sent for that reason. May have to look deeper into that one. Though I don't think it really matters. Just for curiousities sake.

Those in the rapture never die, or come back to die, why would Enoch have to come back to die???

Well, the Enoch and Elijah idea is the most rational to me. These two were on earth mortally and were witnesses and took part in His work in the earth firsthand as humans.

Secondly, they never died and Heb 9:27 says that it is appointed that man die once and then enter into judgment. Well, they never died, yet when the two witnesses appear, they will have to die. I don't think angels will die or be required to die. That's not how it works here on earth. I belive God adheres very closely to His Word.

This way, they finally die and reap their rewards in heaven. I believe they are being held until this point in time because they are true witnesses to what they experienced on earth and what they saw in heaven. It only makes sense.
