All of my characters are on the Brandywine server :(. I am loving this game, though. Maybe when I max out my characters on Brandywine and then want to use another race/class, I will create him on Landroval.

Yeah, I played the open beta for the game and while I liked it and liked the feel of it and the slower, more story-driven pace of it, It wasn't enough to get me to give up my WoW, since I can only have one or the other right now.

DH and I are playing LOTR. We really enjoy it. We are on Brandywine and have just joined a guild that's geared mostly towards couples that play together. Haven't decided if I like it yet or not. But the game is great. :thumbup

I just read that they banned a person for starting a Christian guild, apparently its a violation of their "code of conduct".

Your Lord of the Rings Online account has been suspended as a result of a confirmed Player Code of
Conduct violation. This suspension is 3 days.
Specifically, a Game Master determined that you were recruiting for a Christian only kinship, even
after being warned that it was a violation of the code of conduct, and you continued to talk in OOC
after you were warned to cease the discussion.
Our ultimate goal is to provide an appropriately safe, fun, and engaging experience for our entire
player community. To that end, the Player Code of Conduct must be enforced.
If you have any information that you feel would alter the decision made in this action, please
include that information in this incident. Note that all account actions are taken only after a
significant amount of research and verification is performed to ensure proper Code of Conduct
enforcement. In addition, if you have received a temporary suspension, it will expire automatically -
you do not need to contact us to have a temporary suspension removed at its conclusion.

I just read that they banned a person for starting a Christian guild, apparently its a violation of their "code of conduct".
If someone wants to make a specifically Christian kinship, no one can stop the person. However, there are better ways to do it than recruiting as such in game. If a GM thought this person was trying to segregate people based on faith and warned him and the person did not stop, the temporary 3-day suspension was probably warranted. However, you could always tell people to visit your website and recruit them outside of the game more than on its interior chat channels.
Just another bit of odd information. Bible and abortion are censored words whereas certain words (one in particular that begins with an "f") that end in -ed or -ing are not.

My DH and I have been playing, but I haven't noticed anything like that. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but that I haven't seen it. I know there are several words that automatically filtered, but if Bible is one of them, is koran also not allowed. Just curious if anyone has tested that. I may do so later.
There's a kinship that only recruits men, I wonder what they would say to that. Of course, I haven't seen them recruting in chat, just on the forums. So, I agree it's best not to recruit in chat, but that's how we found out about the guild we joined.

I'm glad you brought this up. I want to point you towards my guild's discussion on the game's official forums.
http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=41512
As you can see this very subject came up on specific guilds and on what the policies are.
On the subject of bible being censored, Koran or rather quran(sp?) is not censored. My guild leader is planning to speak with Turbine on this matter.

Personally, I love the "LOTR" movies and books and I AM NOT CONDEMNING OR EVEN COMMENTING ON THE GAME OR THOSE WHO PLAY IT.
I am just wondering how the following question will be answered when it is asked by someone:
Can a "Christian" guild prosper and present a positive image of the Body of Jesus Christ while engaging in a game environment which is based on the use and abuse of magical powers?
