:scratch Let me think. I believe it must have been in 1982 or 1983 that they came to our church. Their albums were awesome, but to hear their songs live was simply unbelievable. :yay Our church was so packed that it was standing room only for the concert, and there were people in the overflow and in the foyer. I'm guessing that we were breaking quite a few fire department codes that night! :lol2
I remember telling my band director, at my high school, that I WOULD NOT be playing in the pep band for the basketball game that night, because there was NO WAY I was missing a live concert of Lamb! You had to be sick or dying in order to get out of pep band, but he let me go, because I begged so prettily. :nails 'Sides that.....he knew me, and he knew that I was going to miss pep band whether he gave me permission or not. So he gave in, and gave it to me. :heh
Do you remember their song, "Jonah"? :lol2
Joooonnaah..
Joonaah..
Jonah...
Where are you?
I loved that song, and to hear them sing it live sent shivers up my spine. :heh
Do one of their CDs have this song on it? If not, I will cry. :sob So, don't tell me if it is not on one of them! :sob
Actually, my teenagers don't mind messianic music, but my 14 year old son prefers southern gospel, and my 13 year old prefers praise and worship from artists such as Michael W. Smith.
Now, my youngest daughter is a just like me! She loves Messianic music and Celtic music. She has a beautiful singing voice and loves to sing along to my CDs. :lol2

Well, I'd like to see Marty do a song, in a klezmer/70's rock sound, using falsetto, and some of that in Hebrew, and some of that in acapella.
Acapella, and falsetto, sung quickly, is really rough for a guy to do.
:pound Acapella, falsetto and Hebrew! Now THAT sounds really tough. :fear

I'm jealous about that concert.
"Jonah" is on either the "New Mix" album, or live on the "Lamb Live" album. Dude, what a wieeeerd song! :twitch :LOL The way I got it was to borrow a tape deck (I borrowed my grandmother's), hook it up to my computer, and then record it that way to digitize it. This will tell you how: http://www.nsftools.com/misc/TapeToCD.htm
You could get the tape and send it away to a service, or have a friend or someone else do it. Or, you could go here and get a pre-transferred cd that was already made here: http://www.netsoundsmusic.com/nsudsii/2/302260537/2041/2.html
Depends on what resources you have, and what you want to do.
If you can still beg prettily, you can email Joel, from his web site, and see what he says. If he put that out, I'd think about getting a cd for that too, since I'm not quite sure I got it right.
Joel does acapella in falsetto ("The Lord is With Me" off of New Mix) and Hebrew in falsetto ("Bai-Ya-Mim" on Songs For the Flock")-not all the three at the same time though, ya gotta hear it! He really digs it on Build My World. Ha!

:spew I think I will just pass on all that! :lol2 I'm barely computer literate, let alone trying to figure all of that out! :rofl
I could see about sending them away to get them done, but for now, I think I will just stick to the original plan to buy the CDs that I can. :lol2
I know! That song is WAY freaky! :pound But I love it!
Okay! I definitely have to hear Joel singing Hebrew in a falsetto voice. Now THAT sounds cool! :thumb
The best part of the concert was when everyone started worshipping together and we all held hands and raised them up in the air! :yay It was so awesome! We were definitely "in one accord" that night. It was the best concert I have ever been to in my entire life. :yay

Come to think of it, most of the album is like that. :heh
When I got the tape and first started listening to its tracks I definitely had one of those "I-can't-believe-I-thought-I'd-like-this" moments. Especially after seeing the cover. :heh :pound But it definitely grows on you! :thumb
I SO would LOVE to hear Marty do something like Jonah also (After I pick myself up off the floor from shock) Allll of it! :yeah :pound
[70s rock voice]
Ooh, Ooh, Jonah, where are you goin' (where are you goin')
Who do you think you are, you cannot hiii-ide!!!
Ooh, Ooh, Jonah, won't you stop runnin'- yeah? (won't you stop runnin')
You know in your heart you cannot escape my eyyy-yes.

Praise Warrior, I listened to Jonah on your sideload link. It's awesome! That's one I haven't heard before. Could you give a brief explanation of how sideload works? I read the info, and can't tell for sure if you can download any songs. Thanks...

It's not my Sideload thing, just somebody else's who where you can hear most of their stuff--although some have skips or are cut off--but not the other New Mix songs, and not any live ones. Seems to be like an audio YouTube. You can save them to a favorites list or "locker" and you can stream-play them (even on Firefox) but not download.

The songs on the sideload link you can play and listen to them. But, you can't save a copy to your own computer. (All you have to do is click the green [>] arrow button, and make sure your speakers are on cranked up real well :heh
The new Lamb songs are there, and most of the old Lamb songs are there for listening only.
You should play "Jonah" for them, when they ask that :heh You can tell them that was the precursor to p&w :thumb
In fact, since pretty much ALL of Lamb's songs are covered under CCLI and your church's copyright license, they can be considered praise and worship songs that you can put up the lyrics to and do them in church :heh
Partially why I want the guitar chords :gaah
