The only source one can trust to give you the correct information is the Holy Bible!

They just don't want to believe in the rapture of the church. Why does church persecution or no church persecution have any bearing on what the Bible teaches in Thesolonians. My brother is like this, "not bad enough yet for Jesus to come back". Whatever, brother.
"not bad enough"?? The world trembles on financial collapse, nuclear war, and a host of other equally portentous things, and it's not "bad enough"? Good grief!! :faint

I know exactly who you were watching...Shephard's Chapel. Bad news on many points. I had a discussion with Chuck Missler after I'd heard the above statement made, and got an education on this false teacher. He's on during the wee hours of the evening/morning for a reason. :tsk
What does this (Shephard's Chapel) guy teach? Is there a thread on him?

Isaiah 26:20.
Was Isaiah American?
Remind the emergent cynics that the rapture is a Jewish teaching. 100%

exactly, Tony-- emergents can't understand scripture as they have not come to repentant faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Their eyes are blind to understanding as it is the Holy Spirit who dwells within the believer who brings Biblical truth.
I do hope your being sarcastic.

do you mean Sing4Him's statement?
seems a bit unclear, if hes saying emergents aren't true Christians becuz they don't believe in the rapture. i find that very shaky.
if hes saying allot of sham christains are emergents, and simply don't believe anything, i'll agreed with that.
if he meant neither then i just misread it.
if you mean in general?
I would like the rapture to happen. but if you focus on God[Faith working through love (Gal 5:6)],I don't think it will matter.

I myself have been doubting a "rapture".... but I do believe in the 2nd Coming..
It really got complicated when I wanted to find things out for myself by looking at different theories like pre, mid, post, and preterism. Everyone thinks they are right! So I basically threw out the whole thing and focused on my relationship with the Lord.
I've also been doing alot of "unlearning"... because alot of what we believe we hear from others and their interpretation.
So as far as a rapture goes.. well... I'll leave that in God's hands.
So does this make me apostate?
Hope not....
Since when is believing in a rapture a salvation issue?
A rapture would be very cool.... but He already "raptured" me and seated me in heavenly places... I'm already a citizen of heaven!
For me, the main reason why I doubt a pre trib rapture is due to what the belief of it does to christians.
Instead of focusing on maturing in Christ and desiring for God to work through our lives, I think most are just more concerned
with the world events and war and escaping than they are living for God...
Put your son or your daughter in the military and see how anxious you will become for a war...
People do not see it the same way when it can and will be YOUR child...
Also... I think it's also become bad that "rapture doctrine christians" consider non rapture focused christians to be apostate??
Are the rapture focused christians better than the non?
See... this is what I'm not understanding.... and more and more I feel like I just don't belong here anymore.... but I've been coming to this board for about 9, 10 years?

Prophesy in general is now neglected in most churches
the emphasis is on love one another, even if they don't trust in Jesus' salvation
Now we are to love one another, but isn't true love warning someone of their eternal destiny?
Satan and his minions are working 24/7 to get people's eyes off prophesy. Why? because it's unfolding right now
Don't believe or teach a rapture and it's easier to fool those left behind
Keep them focused upon saving the animals and the environment and work together to unite the world under love.
In the meantime the Christians have left and the Antichrist keeps everyone's eyes off the real Jesus
I wouldn't be drinking satan's koolaid at this late quarter in the game
Maybe the last 9 - 10 years you could play around but now it's serious and we are in the 2 minute warning.
Paul said run the race to win, not run and fall down 2 feet before the finish line.

Luke 21:28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Rev. 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
