Hi ya'll,What a blessing to be in a message board of like minded persons:pray
Rapture Ready has so many good BIBLE BASED answers and i is a joy to be here:yay
Being a believer and deeply rooted in the Father, jesus and the Holy Spirit:scripture I have a question perhaps someone can shed some light on (imagine that--I have a question after walking side by side with the Master 34 years:scratch
IF the Father has 'turned someone over to a repobate mind' and the person has said I'm going to hell and I don't care (a former 26 year Christian man),are we to continue to pray for that persons salvation:pray The Father states in Genesis that 'God will not strive with man always' and this person (my son) knows the Word:scripture .Where is my obligation spiritualy in this matter?
please pray before you answer:pray that the Lord open my eyes of understanding.

I can try.
If he truly excepted Christ, He is saved. no matter where he is at know, Im not sure where you stand on eternal security? But if he was truley saved, nothing can change that fact.
It sounds like he has been hurt or discouraged? or the enemy has really worked him over? Not sure of the specifics.
Sometimes a believer will go through trouble,or a Loss of someone they love, and turn away.
Again, I'm not sure of the specifics, but I'm sure the father will draw him back, or sometimes if things are really bad, take them home.
We are all at different stages of experience in our walk with Christ, of course I would continue and pray for him, maybe back off a little, be there for him when he needs it.
Always pray for them though.

I agree keep praying, you may never see your prayer answered while you are alive ( or you may).....but God is able
I am curious your son believes in Hell???
He says he know he is going there but does not care....
How does he do that, believes in Hell and not in Heaven?
Or has he bought satan lies that Hell will be"party time "for all eternity with all his drinking buddies ( does he drink or do drugs)
Or will sort of like the muslims have 50 virgins and all other sorts of "good" times.
Is he trying to hurt you? Is he rebellious otherwise?
Is He mad at God for a lost love, sickness, or something else he blames God for?
It sounds that unlike my son ( who is also not saved, but not rebellious...but who had no training of God while he and my daughter were growing up)
It sounds like your son know some of the Bible etc.

You're doing the right thing. Just continue to pray earnestly and God will answer in His perfect timing.
We are told in Scripture if we pray anything according to His will, He hears us and we have whatever it is we ask of Him. We know it is in His will for your son to be saved because His Word tells us He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
And welcome to RR :wave

My family--
Your tenderness is so sweet--the hurtful part of this challenging time is YES he was saved at 4 years of age--church every time the door opened--the whole gamut if you will we LIVE our walk with the Lord--but you know ya'll have brought up some excellent points--rebellion.hurt,hurting me,ectra--does he believe in heaven and hell--you bet--he started drinking again after 11years of soberity--has completely walked away from family (dad deceased)
but that's not the point--the point is he is tormented and all I know to do for him is PRAY (I have 4 wonderful sons, and three of them were here for Mothers Day--oldest in another state) I asked each son at lunch--how many days in their lives have they known of Mother not praying for them and reading the Word? I was VERY humbled when each son after thought said NEVER--(oldest 33-youngest 25 that's a heap of intercession Family:):):):) So believe me when I tell you I am praying for you--I AM:):):)
for such a time as this--it's just a 'bump' in my walk--
But please continue to lift him up in prayer (we used to have some awesome family alters and devotional times as recent as last year so this is not a suprise but a shock)
Till We Meet In The Air--God Bless
