Jesus the light in the darkness

:hug I just wanted to write something to give us all some encouragement and hope. Praying it touches someone :hug All glory honor and praise to you my King!! :pray :candle


When the world around us is sinful and dark
And no light in the darkness you see
Take your eyes off the world and look to the Son
And you'll see why the darkness must be

For as the world walks away from the cross
And grows evil with each passing day
Jesus is calling His loved ones to come
Into His presence to pray

The strength and the joy that each Christian needs
Is found in His love and His word
We need to abide in Him hour after hour
For the sadness we just cannot afford

Jesus will give us the light that we need
to shine like a beacon of hope
And people will see as they look at our face
That faith is the reason we cope

It's all about Jesus and His glory to come
And the darkness will soon disappear
For He'll come with a shout to take us all home
To a land without evil or tear

So dont lose sight of the victory won
Or the Savior who died in the fight
Without Him the devil would have us in chains
And we'd be in the dark without light!

That was powerful! Did you always write poetry or do you feel led to do this just recently by the Holy Spirit? It's beautiful, I loved it. Thank you Jesus for defeating the enemy. (I love the last part of the poem!~)

:hug I used to write many years ago, but this is definatley Holy Spirit driven! They seem to come at times of deep pain, when I need to spend a lot of time in His glorious presence. They usually come after a long time of prayer or worship. This one came after praying for the body tonight. If you could see how fast it comes into my mind, you'd know it was God! Its like I know the poem before I start writing!! What an awesome God we serve!! I love Him so much!! Thank you my glorious Lord!! :pray :yeah:yeah

I have found out He does this in other things as well, the knowledge is suddenly there...

Now I know what you mean by God's timing and how both poems are perfect side by side. This is a really good poem. Thank you for writing this, it is a blessing as it did minister to me.
