The Alpha program coincides with the Holy Brompton church’s involvement in the “Toronto Blessing” or the “Laughing Revival”
Gumbel:
"Lord, thank you so much for all you are doing and we pray you’ll send your Spirit”
Gumbel teaches Kingdom Now Theology.

Kingdom Theology Now? Oh really, I can assure you that they believe no such thing!! Just to make sure I will ask Nicky Gumbel this weekend.
And as for the so called heresies they are factually inaccurate. Hence no need to waste my time refuting them.

Sure, as him! Ask him about the Toronto Blessing!
Nicky Gumbel’s successful Alpha course was founded at Holy Trinity Brompton in 1991. However, the effectiveness of the course was not realized until a few years later – when the “Toronto Blessing” was transported to Holy Trinity Brompton from Canada in May of 1994. It was then that Church leaders of Holy Trinity Brompton received a dose of the “blessing” through Eli Mumford who had just returned from Toronto.
May 24, 1994-- Elli Mumford met with several leaders of Holy Trinity Brompton. As Mumford prayed at this meet*ing, ‘the glory fell.’ Sandy Millar, the highly regarded vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton, decided that Elli would preach the following Sunday morning. After giving her testi*mony about her ‘Toronto experience,’ Elli asked the congregation to stand while she prayed the Lord would bless and give them all He had. Immediately people began to laugh hysterically, weep, shake, jerk, bark and roar.
Paul warned the church at Corinth that there is another spirit, another gospel and another Christ. We need to be aware that not everything that is promoted in the name of the Holy Spirit is the Holy Spirit.
The roots of Alpha are from John Wimber of VINEYARD.

Jesus (in His Incarnation) was conceived by the Holy Spirit (Matt. 1:18-20) and, as a “child … [He] waxed strong in spirit…” (Luke 2:40).[17] This is another important doctrine about the Lord Jesus, So where does Alpha stand?
In Talk 8 Gumbelsays “Almost everybody connected with the birth of Jesus is filled with the Holy Spirit”.

Do I have to go sit through a porno flick and experience it to know it's wrong? Do I have to try acid for myself, before I can preach against the dangers of drugs? Or can I do research and share the facts and dangers with others? That is the big problem with today's church..."just try it for yourself and see". That is what satan told Eve in the garden.
There is an antichrist spirit infecting the "churches" today and we need to be discerning and in the Word. The enemies tentacles are everywhere, and they are rapidly spreading into every corner of the "church", deceiving and seducing people.

If they are factually inaccurate, then please show us. There are so many attacks on the true gospel of Christ in these last days it is prudent to search out the truth to know if you are being led astray. A brother/sister in Christ comes to a group asking for input on a particular teaching and is given a fresh perspective on what they were told was the truth. The prettiest lies are mostly truth. The other relevant things going on in that church further support the position of this Alpha course following in the apostate teachings.
Claiming it's a waste of time to refute the inaccuracies of something you piped up to defend, is another smoke and mirrors tactic used by emergents, woffers, and a host of other heritical movements. They can not defend the lis embedded in the teachings when the light is shown directly on them so they try to shift the subject or lay claim to not having enough time to bother.
If we are wrong, then show us.

Pro 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.

yup
satan is always trying to trick and lure people away from the truth by immitating God, and this is just another way he is mocking the Lord.
how does barking (I once heard drooling in the spirit :doh) glorify our Creator?
Now how does this kind of behaviour look to the unsaved? WHY would they want anything to do with a God that makes people act like that uncontrollably?
Who benefits from this?
satan. He got those people caught up in a "flesh fest" of 'experiencing God' in a way that does everything but actually glorify and edify our Saviour. :tsk
Discernment is not a bad thing to pray for these days.
