not a complaint, but i wanted to ask...

since this has become "homeschooling and recipes" i'm wondering what the general consensus is---
if its ok to post recipes for other things, like fat & lye soap recipes, laundry soap recipes, and silly putty type goos and molding/modeling dough.
i have a few good things to share in that category, but i don't want to clutter up the forum...i don't think they really fit in the general Women's forum and i don't have so many that it would be worth pestering for a subforum. the admin is obviously trying to trim the excess, and i agree, we don't need to add any more to it.

should i post the craft recipes in one thread under a "CRAFT RECIPE" header, or post each on its own?
one just for soaps and other DIY cleaners and one for kid's crafts?

just looking for feedback :)

I think it's a great idea to include it in this forum. Just give each thread a new title. Kind of like the Women's Forum. That way everyone can pick and choose.

I can't wait to see what you post. You, Sunny and a few others are very creative.

It's what we did when it was just a Homeschool forum. I don't see why it can't continue.

It sounds like a great idea to me!!

I think it should only be recipes your learn in home school, like "Mom's homeschool Apple Pie". :D

I would like to see homeschooling be an independent forum.
Putting homeschooling and recipes together 1. minimizes the important job we do as homeschool parents, and 2. makes the assumption that all hs parents are stay at home types that would find that interesting. Most of us have made tremendous sacrifices to embark upon this homeschooling journey and daily we face many oppositions. It would be nice to have a "Christian" place to express our fears, concerns, etc. without having to wade through a bunch of recipes.
Thanks.

It was like that until a couple of weeks ago. The usage of RR has greatly increased recently and the servers were having great difficulty handling everything. I do agree with you that HS should be a separate forum, but I would rather have a combined forum than none at all. I :pray that they are able to upgrade the servers soon and can separate the boards again.

Maybe we could have several threads about HS as stickies at the top of the board. We could come up with a list of important HS topics and then they would be right there and easy to find. :idunno

When you put it that way, I agree!:hug

I personally have no problem mixing recipes with homeschool topics, and I'm a home schooling parent. I look forward to seeing recipes for soaps, crafts, etc.
