I did a google on his name (carlton pearson). Ondoctrine had an article on him and his teaching. If true, I would call that pretty heretical.
http://www.ondoctrine.com/10pearso.htm

Apparently he preaches at New Dimensions who calls themselves the friendliest, the trendiest, and the most radically inclusive. Sounds pretty Laodicean or emergent church with that line.

I checked him out on google, and I found him described as a pentecostal universalist. Universalists believe that all mankind will be saved, whether they want to be or not. I haven't checked out all his material yet, and to tell you the truth, I'm really turned off by everything I'm finding about him.

Guys like this are a direct threat to Christianity. They go against everything God says is true and holy. Matthew 7:15 talks about falso prophets in sheep's clothing. Acts 20:29 tells us about the grievous wolves who will enter in among believers, not sparing the flock. This verse refers to the two sources of the spostasy: false teachers from without, and ambitious leaders from within.

This is why we have to be discerning, and not fall for the ramblings of such false teachers.

God give us wisdom.

It's not just the Way Out churches teaching this.

A HUGE Southern Baptist church in Raleigh, NC teaches the same thing. Hell is NOT an eternal state of ****ation, per this SBC church. :scratch

Hell exists. Without laying out a great deal of detail here, I will simply reference the article I wrote that was posted on Rapture Ready. That link is http://www.raptureready.com/featured/funk/hell2.html. In short, if there is no hell, then Jesus lied. Jesus is God. God cannot lie. Jesus cannot lie. Hell exists. Enough said.

I heard a news story today about a pastor who says that after careful study of Scripture, and "revelation" from God Himself, has decided that hell doesn't really exist and that the Bible is not really God-inspired, but was written by men who misinterpreted what God said.

well i guess that just makes him another moron :falsep who's misinterpreted God for Mr. Stinky! :devil i agree with CHRISTinCheryl

also i thought Bill Wiese was telling the truth but i'm not basing my faith upon what he says but upon what my Lord tells me in his book :pray

His story will be profiled on 20/20 next Friday night. I'm going to be sure to watch it, as I missed the first part of the story, so I didn't get all the information. I did hear that he had a congregation of 6,000, but after announcing his new "findings", his congregation dropped to barely 300. I guess they aren't exactly seeing things the way he does?

Thought someone else might know something about it, and might have some comments to make.

i'll have to keep an eye out for that 20/20 piece - i think Foxtel puts that program on sky news :scratch
