Did anyone see the 20/20 program about Carlton Pearson? We had company and I missed it! I really meant to see it, but maybe it was better that I didn't - I probably would have gotten pretty upset by him.

When satan can convince people there is no hell, no devil and "in the end all people are saved"...he wins.
Spiritual Discernment...Spiritual Discernment...Spiritual Discernment.
It is needed today more than ever. Pray for the Body of Christ everyday to be protected from the lies of the enemy and for all of us to have discernment in these days and to speak up when these heresies are introduced in our churches. We need to keep eachother lifted in prayer. Satan IS real, as is hell and satan is in overdrive right now. Let's please pray for the church everyday.

I did and saw them speak to him. I seem to recall him saying something to the fact that the bible is the writings of man as they tried to interpret what God said, and that a loving God would not punish anyone. When asked about the people that left, he acted as if they were the bad ones who had done some great injustice to him. I was upset over what he said but I was even more upset that his group of 300 is increasing in numbers.

Brokenjar,
I watched that too. It makes me so sad that a man who worked for God for so many years, turns his back on the truth, because he hears a voice in his head.
Of course God talks to people, but if it contradicts what the Bible says it ain't God.:doh
I was glad to hear over 5,000 left his Church but it makes me sad that so many are coming back. That women who joke that when her family hears what she believes now are going to fasting and praying for her, had better hope their prayers come true, because she is in danger of hell.
How sad it will be if that Preacher ends up in hell. How right Paul was when he said in the last days men will turn from the truth in order to have their ears tickled. Sadly this is true for Preachers too.:fear

Well, Scripture says that in the end days, man will fall away from the truth and think more highly of himself than of spiritual things. And, from the way the world is turning these days, I feel that we are definitely in the end days.
We live in a "me, me, me" world. Folks think more of what they "want" more than what they "need" - the Lord. Even Christians are living like the world, and it's sometimes hard to pick them out of the crowd. Scripture says we are to be a "peculiar people", meaning that we should be different from the world, not like it.
God Bless.

I feel we are in the last days too. There seems to be lot of people preaching his brand of teaching lately, what itching ears want to hear. It's sad. Praise God there are still many who listen to the Holy Spirit.

Well, being an agnostic, I'll believe in hell once any factual evidence is given.
If there is a god (or gods), though, I don't see why he would need to have such a place in existance. If he's all-powerful, then he should be able to convince any evil doers to smarten up.
And as for Satan, again, if God is truly all-powerful, then he should have destroyed him a long time ago.

I said that he should be able to convince them to do good, not brainwash them into doing so.

Convincing comes in all shapes and sizes, and all of it moot if the person doesn't want to be convinced.
