Proving that people from the Bible existed isn't quite the same as proving that God exists. Glad to know some of the people were real, though.
It's not just my opinion, it is many peoples opinion. :nod
Many people are athiest and agnostic as well.

Maybe so, but for someone that would come from the perspective that the whole Bible is a book of myth, it's rather startling to see some of that myth being verified as an actual record, eh?
Past my bed time, it's been fun :wave

I've never said I didn't believe in anything from the Bible. Some of it may be true, but I just don't agree with all that magic that happens. I know you'll say it isn't magic, but that's just my opinion.
Anyway, goodnight to you.

It doesn't say that it has to be the Beliefs Board. It just says "Apologetic Area."
[24]Christian and Family Friendly - This board is a family-friendly Christian Fellowship board. We strive to provide a place for Christians to fellowship and congregate without fear of being harassed from people with opposing views. As a result, individuals who are not Christians, are required to keep their posting in the apologetics area of the board.
This board used have Apologetic, but they recently changed the name to "belief system". I guess they forgot the change the rules to go with it. So It is confusing.

Excuse me. :hehee We just recently rearragned this part of the board and it was my mistake. It was pointed out to me by our Admin. that you can post in any area under the Apologetical Issues.

If you believe the Bible is the inerrent Word of God, then you believe in Hell. If you decide which parts of the Bible suits your lifestyle, then you are worshippng an idol god. God HAS to judge people as the word says. How righteous would God be if He didn't judge as He said he would. Remember if God is 'caught' in any type of lie, then he isn't God and we will have to start listening to Ingersoll!!!( just kidding my agnostic friend) If your daughter was raped and the guy admitted it but the judge said "you know I'm a loving judge, so I'm going to let the rapist off the hook. No penalty. Even though he admitted the crime. Would that be a righteous judge? Would that be a loving judge? Would that encourage the rapist to turn his life around? That fact that God sent His Son Jesus to pay for your sins....that do in fact condem you to hell (I'm just stating what the book says, if you have a problem take it up with the author) is the show of His love for us. Not that He is going to go against His on Word, become an false god that many have made up, but have no documentation for and let those who turned from Him, rebelled, and despised His counsel, continued in sin as a mockery to God. Remeber God won't be mocked.NEWS FLASH: if you loved the Jesus that came the first time, loving , forgiving, compassionate, you should familiarize yourself with the Jesus that comes the second time. (Matt: Rev.) He is not coming to forgive anybody, to heal anybody, to nourture anybody, He is coming back as the Judge, with fire in His eyes, He who was once the Lamb of God, comes back as the Roaring Lion of Judah. That is what the book says.
Many people feel happy picking out the parts of they Bible that fits their lifestyle, and doesn't condem them. Good luck with that.

You know what Ingersoll... this is exactly what happened to me. I was seeking the truth about God, but I couldn't be convinced either way by people. The more people witnessed to me, the more I resisted. I was a self described agnostic & very skeptical. God reached down and changed my heart in an instant while I was in my car with my two toddlers on the way home from the grocery store!!! It was overwhelming and confusing at first. But the more I have learned, the more my faith in Christ is increased. Just keep asking God to show you the truth. He IS all powerful and He CAN change hearts regardless of what we do or do not *want* to believe.

Sheol:
Place of the dead - Gen 37:35; Job 7:9; Ps 49:15; Pr 15:11; Is 38:10; Eze 32:27 and Hab 2:5
Hades:
Hell, place of the dead - Mt 11:23; Lk 16:23 and Ac 2:31
Hell:
Place of the dead - Mt 5:22; Mt 10:28; Mk 9:47; Jas 3:6 and 2 Pe 2:4
For whatever reason I'm having a 'blank out moment'; however, Christ while walking with His disciples brought them to a place in Israel that is before a great opening in the side of a huge mountain. This was where the garbage was burned in that time period and it was used by Christ as a 'word pic' of what Sheol would be like.
In the parable of the rich man & Lazarus, we read in Luke 16:24 - And he (rich man who dined elegantly and had all earthly pleasures & riches whereas Lazarus was poor in wealth but rich in heavenly treasures) cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.'
Christ taught that Hades would be a place of unspeakable torment, unquenchable flame; an accusing conscience remembering all the missed opportunities (ie. the rich man could have not stepped over Lazarus, while climbing the stairway to his palatial estate and could have invited him to dine with him, but did not). Perhaps the worse part of Hell/Hades/Sheol will be the eternal separation from God.
No hope. No escape. No light. While on earth, at least unbelievers have a chance of salvation whereas once in hell that chance is extinguished. The fact that as we are winding ever nearer the Lord's return false prophets deny hell should certainly not surprise us. They are of their father the devil who is a liar. What better way to keep people in the thought process of 'no rush to come to faith, there is not a hell'; OR 'why read the Bible, there's a whole world out there to tase of'; OR 'you're a good person God would never cast you into hell, besides there is no such place it is a figment of men's overactive imaginings'....fill in the blank.
What is the other Biblical truth that is under attack increasingly these days? The pre-trib Rapture of the Church...why? It is the blessed hope of every believer and we are commanded to be watching. If the enemy can use his mouth pieces to play it down, twist it up, make it appear as though believing he Bible for all that it says is 'fundamentalism' in this pc world...how many can he keep from seriously considering their eternal destination? Countless millions, I'm afraid. No, I am not saying one must believe in the pre-trib rapture to be saved....
The best way to protect ourselves from these wolves is to know the Bible and, as we become Bereans - workman approved, the Holy Spirit will recall to mind Scripture that we have hidden in our heart. Through this discernment, the fangs are clearly visible when a false doctrine spews forth!
God bless y'all.

Wow there sure is alot of skepticism in the unbelieving world about hell that doesn't believe in Jesus Christ for salvation. Of course I never got it why unbeliever's consider the possibility of heaven but not Hell and how Jesus Christ is completely left out of the equation. He died for a reason! the reason is this....
--Everyone dies. Jesus died. Nobody escapes death cept for elijiah and the rapture of the church.
--Jesus died to save us from a second death not the first death. Is it a death of eternal sleep? No. There is a difference, it is called a second eternal death not a second eternal sleep. There is such a word game going on in the world.
--Salvation is partly this being saved from Hell and the second death the definition of death is destruction! That sounds a lot worse than sleep or instant vaporation. We are saved from eternal death for a reason because it is extreme suffering in a lake of fire intended for the devil and his angels NOT man that's why we have salvation because we are saved from extreme circumstance of our sin and given eternal paradise what a gift Jesus is!

Hell as a big fiery pit doesn't exist.
Jesus talked about hell more than he talked about heaven.hell is a very real place.so is the lake of fire, and thats after the great white throne judgement if you are not saved by jesus christ and only christ alone can save you.you will spend a eternity of severe torment and even though your body will die your soul does not die.you will spend a eternity of torment your human mind couldnt possibly comprehend.the good news is you can come to jesus and be saved from that.its your choice man.
