I buy clothes and shoes made in America. My workboots are a good example...Redwing. My workjacket too...Carhartt. Can't forget TOOLS either. When I need something made right and made to last, that's when I always buy American.
And the last thing...American flags...You won't see one flying at my house that isn't made in America. That's just not right.

Those few items though are not the bulk of purchases the average consumer buys. China has us by the throat for many things, and other countries, typically Asian but not always, have us as well.

I realize that. There are some things that you can't buy American made even if you want too. That's the sad part.

China may not be able to produce a whole lot of food shortly between the floods and the rats. I heard the rat infestation is estimated at hundreds of millions. I caught a clip on tv earlier and it made me cringe to watch people up to their ankles in rats. :panic

It also appears that carboard is now being used to bulk up chicken products. Taster tests show it's hard to tell the difference. Is there an icon for gagging?

My new saying? I love cooking from scratch, I love cooking from scratch.
:lol2

At this point not quite sure who to feel more sorry for - the beleagured Chinese villagers or the poor mice. The mice are God's creatures too, and they were being driven into the lake like so much sewage. :(

Yes, I should have been more clear, I do empathise for those poor people, however, I don't exactly find it easy to feel much other than revulsion toward the rats. Sorry, I know they are God's creatures but they still creep me out, particularly in those numbers.

There was a report on one of the alphabet soup networks that the farmers/peasants had already killed, apparently manually, 92 tons of rats/mice.
