ARE YOU KIDDIN' ME?!
Is there any other sport? :)
My 15 yr. old son races karts. He started at 8 yrs. old. We (I'm the Pit Crew Chief) have 6 Championships and about 24 'Wins'.
These karts are not your average 'yard karts'. They are made specifically for racing with camber, akerman, castor, stagger, as well as many other adjustments that can be made for optimal performace. On average, top speed is around 55 mph. No roll bars or seat belts. Engines run on Methanol. Snell approved helmets, race jacket, neck brace, gloves are mandatory. Classes are anywhere from 8 yrs old till you decide your physically unable.
It is the most fun a family can have in a sport
OK. I'll step down off my soap box now :)

I used to plan my vacations to go back to see my family around when the race was being held a Pocono. Can't wait to go again!

One of the unique aspects of this sport is you can use your 'ride' as a billboard. I have on the very front of my kart, a cross with JESUS written on it. I have seen others with crosses, Bible versus, their home church name, etc.
-and it has opened up doors to spiritual conversation.
