Not having read pretty much ANY posts in the Tin Foil Shed, but merely concentrating on this one thread here, I can say that the case for the 'hidden' Tin Foil Shed was already made, and the case for removing it altogether seems to be in the process of being made, simply because one of the most BASIC rules of this site (indeed, of ANY site) is being broken, and that is to treat others with dignity & respect (as you like being treated).

Rule 23 comes into play as well...which is essentially that we reserve the right to remove threads and posts that we feel are detrimental to the overall Christian witness of the board, and the unity of the Christians on this board.

The Tin Foil Shed forum was sort of intended to be a halfway humorous forum for conspiracy theories and such...and people are getting WAY too serious and upset over stuff related to it.

I understand waht your saying...I'm not sure why it is such a flame place and myself have been caught a little suprised at how mad people seem to be.

I don't get it -- a message board is no fun if your just all worked up while reading/posting.

I left the other board because of all the drama (maybe all boards are like that -- I don't know because that was my first board).

I'm starting to think that eliminating certain threads won't eliminate the posters who have a style of jumping in and dominating without taking a moment to consider the other's words.

You may want to read the other threads about the shed...

I think I'll lurk a while here before investing more time.

I think it's good to have a place to discuss these things, the problem is those that don't like it really don't need to come here. It's THE place for those discussions. We're not doing this to try to convert the world, rather to just share insight and links with each other.

In the ladies forum, when they ask for ladies only and a man chimes in he gets the what for, so why can't that apply here too?

Also, some come from the old board, and can post at both places while those of us interested in the tin shed probably have no posting rights over there.

Doesn't seem right to me.

You do make a valid point....it's something people on both sides should keep in mind - don't go there if you really don't want to be there, or plan ONLY on telling people how wrong they are, because let's face it - we don't do that with people we're trying to reach for the Lord.

However, at the same time, the question needs to be asked whether or not it's edifying as a whole. (BTW, this goes for all.....it's not addressed to any particular person, and as a matter of fact, it's not even limited to the Tin Foil Shed.)

If the purpose is to discuss theories with some truth to them in the search of truth, that's fine and well. If the purpose, however, is to argue for the sake of argument, to advance one's own opinions, to not actually DISCUSS anything, but just broadcast a one-sided belief, that's not right.

Above all, whatever the focus is, we should ALL have respect and courtesy for one another. Advancing a viewpoint or discussing a theory at the cost of unity isn't a good thing.

Great points Kung,

I don't want to argue either. If someone has a sincere desire to find out some things they're not hearing on the MSM and come here to ask, that's great, but alot of us have spent alot of time researching these things and believe there's something to it.

We should be able to compare notes, or maybe even warn others here if/when things start getting worse, like safe havens or phone numbers.

We will all learn the complete truth someday, but until then, I don't think silencing those who are looking for as much as we can find now is the answer.

Lets just keep it in it's little hidden hiding spot. those who want to know where to find it, can; non-members can't find it; and those who don't want to go there don't have to go to the trouble of looking for it or seeing it in the general chat. We can all get along, there is no need to get rid of the shed. JMHO.

I like to hear all the "wild and wacky" stories because like another poster said, six months later they become mainstream. If they don't start out as wild and wacky, how will they ever become mainstream? We just won't ever hear anything but Anna Nicole, Brittany, and the Duke boys. (smilie and roll eyes)
