Does anyone know of a reputable online homeschooling site where the school grades the work? Free or for money.

Due to health problems and frequent dr visits far away, my daughter misses a lot of school and our local school is willing to work with us for electives if we homeschool but it has to be a program that the school will recognize the credits for.

Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. :hat

Since I have spend the past few months researching homeschool options for my two kids still in school, I may have some ideas for you. I have a couple of questions for you:
1) Are you looking for core courses, elective courses or both?
2) What grade is your daughter in?

This is a correspondence school that is used by a lot of people who actually want high school credits from an accredited school. A lot of celebrity children use them.

I can't think of any Christian schools that will be accepted by your school, but I'm sure they're there.

Thanks for the help. Sorry It took me so long to get back, its been busy lately.

Core classes only. Our local school is willing to help with the electives so she can still attend school functions like prom and such like any other student. She will be in 11th grade next year,

The Alpha Omega Academy is a Christian K-12 homeschool and uses both computer or print based curriculum. The school does the grading.

Also, The Christian Academy of America has a similar program.

Hope you can find a homeschooling program that works. I'll be praying for you.:pray

Hi Tigger -

I use the K12 program with my son, and I'm very happy with it. You can customize it to incorporate religious studies or replace some of the secular science lessons with Christian-based material. It's considered a public school, so it's tuition-free. They supply teachers, all the materials, including text books, computer, monitor, printer, etc.

The program isn't available in every state. I can't post a link until I've made 15 posts, but you can do a web search for K12 to see if it's offered in your area.

Good luck!

have you looked into www.homeschools.org? I'm considering HS & this seems very appealing to me

I used that program and it was awful, awful, awful. It's very inexpensive to sign up with them, but as a result they use some curriculum that's just not very good. They publish an excellent World History course, but their other materials are not good, and I don't recommend them.

I use K12 too and I really like it. She's assigned an online teacher....who doesnt really teach her, but rather monitors her progress. I'm able to call her teacher anythime for support or questions.
