Van Imp has been wrong many times. Not a prophet. Don't fuss about it.

sorry i don't....i don't put stock in what Mr or Ms. Van Imp says. In fact anything they say (or anyone else for that matter) is Acts 17:11. To my knowledge they like to set dates and apparently from what you are asking, they are date setting for 06/11/11. I could be wrong however. He often reminds his listeners that he never sets a rapture or tribulation date, because of what the Bible says.

I was born and raised catholic and never heard of salvation until I was about 17. Alot of catholic church doctrines are not of God and it bothered me when Jack Van Impe started talking about them as bible believing christians.

Alot of catholics would like to be but don't know how. They have never been taught the truth about Jesus that we are forgiven through Him and can have a relationship with God through Him :bible

Yes not good. I hope through divine intervention, they be showed the truth & salvation Jesus paid for on the cross. :thumb

I agree with what you are saying. My parents used to watch VanImpe and I didn't like him and my mother told me, well you can't pick and chose who God has shown the bible to. (please nobody read to much into that) So even though my parents didn't agree with everything he had to say and everyone should always do their own research before accepting something someone says as truth, but it is my opinion that as a stepping stone for people who want to learn more about the bible he does have some good stuff and he broadcasts all over, reaching people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn more. My parents don't watch his show anymore, now we are all into perry stone, but I would give VanImpe an average score among preachers, not among the worst, I mean seriously Benny Hinn, lol, but not among the best.

Hello Nikilyn... you are so right about Mr Hinn..... and to think he makes "Christian" predictions kinda like Jean Dixon used to do about worldly events but he never goes back to show you how wrong he is on almost all of it.....

I watch Perry Stone on a regular basis as well, but he also has been using non-biblical sources to make some claims recently. He has been using books from the apocrapha as additional sources to make his points of his interpretations. These books are not in the Bible because God did not want them there. They are not inspired and we all know they contain false doctrine. He has also been using NT non-canonical books too such as the gospel of Peter, etc.

Any teaching he promotes using such sources is instantly suspect. Now I still watch him 9 weeks out of 10, but some if his interpretations that he "finds" are just too far off base Biblically, with no other supporting evidence elsewhere in the Word.....The only support is in that week's offer you just have to have.....well, according to his deep voiced anouncer anyway. But then the next week he will present a solid Biblical case for the pre-trib rapture, etc. so I keep watching...

Last week or two he clearly implied all Christians that were not speaking in tongues were just not complete or were less powerful, or less able for God to work through, etc. My gifts of the spirit do not include tongues but I know my ticket to be with my Lord has been personally validated by Him with His blood. During that "tongues" telecast he also had the nerve to say that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit had only occurred 3 times in history. One was Pentecost, the second was the "tongues' revival in Los Angeles in the very early 1900's.... I forgot the exact year... and he mentioned some other time, but I had already started tuning him out by then because he is so wrong. I just shook my head when Perry said that.

I was reminded of this "tongues" attitude this week on Rush Limbaugh when a lady called in saying John McCain could not be a Christian because he was not Holy Ghost filled and he had never spoken in tongues. And she was voting for Obama.... talk about a confused lady :doh

Anyway... I will watch Perry again this weekend but some nights he just tries to sensationalize his teaching that night because it is weak based that particular night. Well IMHO anyway.....

All this just makes me the more thankful that I found this website....

We are ready Lord.... and our lamps are full of oil and we are watching.... no thief will surprise us.....:thumb

His show is not made for the saved, it is made for the unsaved. It often airs late at night to reach those high or drunk. I like him because he loves JESUS. Yes he is wrong sometimes, but so am I.
