When repent is mentioned in the Bible it is talking about getting saved. Repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your savior. Not every time you sin, or have drink of alcohol or whatever that you must repent it or you are "unsaved". That way of thinking is totally "works". Although you should pray for forgiveness of your sins, if you forget one and the rapture happens, your not going to be left behind. If so they used the wrong word when they said "EVERLASTING life."

Be very careful of Mr. Van Impe

Totally. I used to watch him everytime he came on. Over the years, he leaned more and more to Catholic ideology and even praised them saying they are the same as Christians. Then he got into that whole December 2012 thing and lost me completely. How can someone who has memorized literally thousands of verses become meddled with deception?!

The man has a photo-copy of the KJV in his brain and he's messing up like this? I don't even feel bad anymore for not knowing many scriptures by memory. This guy knows the whole thing front to back and believes his own delusions!

Too bad. My faith in Jesus Christ is enough assurance for me anyhow. Being covered by His blood matters more than sounding like you know what you're talking about on a tv show.

I watch him frequentlly. He has not leaned more and more to Cathollic idealogy, what he said was that the New Catholic Caticism Class now states that there will be a rapture and a trib and the Lord will return after. That was never in the catacism before. That means they are leaning toward a more Christian doctrine, not the other way around.

I'm amazed at the number of people here who do not believe Catholics are Christians. My father and mother both attend a catholic church. They do not worship idols, they both speak in tongues, they are both born again and hold bible studies for decades where they teach others the new birth, catholic and non-catholics alike.

The basic catholic belief is The Father, son and holy spirit and Jesus is lord. I believe that because of their "saints" and their ceremonial garb, they do not lead many to the lord, it's all so routine.....none the less, they are sooooo off in many areas. I myself left the catholic church years ago, yet I know many who are in that are indeed born again.

Y2K and Bible Prophecy | thebereancall.org

Jack Van Impe has advised his TV viewers not to fly at that time. Like Van Impe, many noted Christian writers and speakers are sounding Y2K alarms. ...
www.thebereancall.org/node/5812

The government advised all healthcare facilities to test generators and stand by with emergency equipment to assit patients who needed artificial support during Y2K. That warning isn't proof of an overzealous preachers who was offering some kind of prophecy. That was just a person who was probably say, "Hey, we don't know if this carries any merit or not--best not test it." In my opinion, it's best to err on the side of caution. I think it's far to easy to point the finger and chastize. It's very disheartening. It's shameful really.

The reality was... there was Y2K compliance issues, they were fixed. End of story.

I watch him every week. Enjoy his knowledge and program immensely. Whatever we all may disagree with, whether it is right or wrong....we must be grateful to him for offering an opportunity to his audience for salvation on every program. I wonder when we get to heaven, will it matter more if we were 100% right on our beliefs...or will it matter more the number of people we led to the Lord during our time here on earth?

While i don't believe Jack is necessarily right on all his messages, I believe that he is a little ahead of himself with the blood red moon and sun being black as sackcloth thing. He is mentioning scripture that has to deal with the great and terrible day of the Lord which is not yet. Desolations are determined before thiese events happen.
Possibly, According to science (falsely so called) our solar system is set to fall back in line with the plane of the elliptic of the rest of the universe, which is to create some interesting planetary alinements. In your Google search engine put in the word "elliptic". Hopefully this will give you more info.
God Bless.

Mods----feel free to move.

Last night I watched about 20 minutes of Jack Van Impe and noticed how he has gone off the deep-end. Is it just me, or has anyone else been alarmed at his dillusional messages. He has this new book out called "2012", and just the title is enough to throw new converts (or those hungry for God) off the path of biblical truth. Indeed, Satan is using these televised programs to confuse and deceive.

i kinda felt he was a bit off a few years ago, its too bad. i really think he had genuinely good intentions at one time, but i really think he is losing it.
