I saw a couple of episodes fo JVI that this thread is talking about and I never got "date setting" out of it. It seemed to me he was telling people to watch out for this "false" doctrines. The Mayan calendar is the dec 21 2012 date setter not JVI, he just thought we might be raptured before all that took place. My understand is his DVD is to refute all that other garbage.
I dont watch him very often and he goes off in a wrong direction from time to time but so does everyone else. No preacher was ever 100 percent correct except Jesus.
When I watch his show, its mainly for the headlines that Rexella finds and the funny pictures and cartoons that the viewers send in.

im sorry but jack is not "date setting" he is just explaining how this date 2012 works into prophecy ... its not a specific date he is saying jesus will return .... he is just showing us that we are close to the rapture .... im sure he knows nobody knows the true time ..... and if you tell me he is a false prophet and wont be in heaven ..... then oh man you got to be kidding me ...... jack is a great Christian leader....and he knows his stuff :thumb praise God for jack :yeah

It sounds as if Jack Van Impe is trying to broaden his prospective donor pool.2012 is 4 years of guaranteed sales

Is it December 21, 2012?
Late last night, shuffling through the channels I caught that, laughed and moved on.
Maybe it's just a gimmick to get people to buy the tape/CD on it. It doesn't pique my curiosity at all. NO ONE KNOWS, when Christ will return.I agree about Christ's return being unknown except for its 'season'.
However, I wouldnt be at all surprised if 'something important' happens exactly when all the current batch of date-setters says it will. No doubt that will play into the End Time scheme of things quite nicely from the AC's perspective...

2012 is 4 years of guaranteed salesWhile that is probably quite true, dont you get the sense that 2012 has some sort of importance beyond that?
Im not date-setting here. It just seems rather curious that there is such a variety of non-Scriptural interest in that year in particular. It almost seems like some sort of a 'set up'.
Does that make sense?

"Set up" sounds about right.

I haven't watched Jack for awhile, so I don't think I could say much FAIRLY. What I do remember is a lot of the stuff said being pretty respectful of scripture and the gospel, but knowing how quickly things can change lately, that doesn't guarantee fidelity to the gospel and scripture, without any commercial tainting, in perpetuity. But I guess I'd leave a current assessment to the other posters, and there seems to be some divergent opinion.
I have at times thought the Rexella spots, now let's hear from Jack, etc.seemed a bit campy, but same probably endears them to many, and again this is just a style issue.
A question I do have, that any previous poster might know from these recent presentation,DVD's etc. is
Is this Date, which he is either "setting" or highlighting as something others set for questionable reasons,
anything to do with that Winter Solstice worship stuff? Sounds like an uneducated way to ask the question, but hopefully y'all know what I mean!

Did Jack mention something at the end of his show about the EU electing a permament president? Anyone hear/see that?

It could be used by the AntiChrist to get all the peoples who believe in this date to believe that he saved them from the end of the world as a way to get them to worship him. This could be one of the ways he gets all the religions together. This could be why Jesus warned us about date setting. I am sure there are other ways to bring all religions into the fold as well. That is why it is so important to be grounded in the WORD so you won't be decieved.

IMHO, any kind of setting people up to look for a certain date, whether it's Jesus' return or not, is wrong. Even if someone doesn't say that Jesus will return by say, 2012, why try to pin-point dates anyhow? So Jesus can't return until AFTER that date? Doesn't sound biblical.
