It could be used by the AntiChrist to get all the peoples who believe in this date to believe that he saved them from the end of the world as a way to get them to worship him. This could be one of the ways he gets all the religions together. This could be why Jesus warned us about date setting. I am sure there are other ways to bring all religions into the fold as well. That is why it is so important to be grounded in the WORD so you won't be decieved.

The AC will have plenty of support for bringing together a panic stricken world that's in chaos over millions of people vanishing. That's the easy ticket to his acceptance.

The reason for not knowing the date is explained by Jesus in Mat 24:43 and through the parable of the faithful servant in the end of the chapter.
We all would be complacent and wait until the last day to repent, which is why I'm glad we don't know the date.
Satan would use that trap to his advantage, just like he already uses it by creating doubt that we are in the last days and the rapture could happen anyday.

Now, have you heard as of late that he say "I don't want to be president" talking the two canidates due to his predictions of December 21, 2012? They just made a book of it and right now I getting so offend and shock that I may end up stop watching Jack Van Impe. I feel really offended on what he say. We know Jesus is coming is near, but we have to read the bible to know. Nobody, including the angels, knows the day and the hour. We only know by the signs in the bible.

OntheRock, I noticed the same thing. I really like Jack and his wife, but the Nostradamas thing bothered me. It surprised me, because he DOES know scripture very well. He also is promoting a book, or DVD about the year 2012, Dec 21st. , suggesting something "glorious" is going to happen on that date. I think is is best to stop watching him, unfortunately. JMHO

Well, Nostradamas, yes. But I don't think is the money issue.

"Set up" sounds about right.
1984, 1988, 2000, and 2001 was a lot of hoopla too

I have a few of his videos and I watch him every week. I don't always agree with everything he says. I get verses from him and news from him, when it comes to doctrine, I take what he says with a grain of salt. I guess I do that with everyone I hear preaching. I must search the scriptures myself and make sure what anyone teach is true before I can actually believe it. Date setting is wrong, but one thing I know for sure you have to add in atleast 7 years of 360 days from now before the end of the age. and it would put that past the date listed here.

I agree with what you are saying. My parents used to watch VanImpe and I didn't like him and my mother told me, well you can't pick and chose who God has shown the bible to. (please nobody read to much into that) So even though my parents didn't agree with everything he had to say and everyone should always do their own research before accepting something someone says as truth, but it is my opinion that as a stepping stone for people who want to learn more about the bible he does have some good stuff and he broadcasts all over, reaching people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn more. My parents don't watch his show anymore, now we are all into perry stone, but I would give VanImpe an average score among preachers, not among the worst, I mean seriously Benny Hinn, lol, but not among the best.

The only true things about 21 December 2012 is that it's the date of the annual winter solstice, when the day is shortest on the northern hemisphere and that the Mayan calendar ends on that date.
Also 2012 is the year that the sun should be in that maximum of its 11 year long sunspot activity cycle.
All other claims are bogus new age mumbo jumbo and weird conspiracy doodoo, so pay no heed to those other than to ask yourself why the devil whips up this nonsense...

I quit watching Van Impe for numerous reasons. Reason 1, I have a huge problem with him promoting the Mayans, Nostrodamous, ect... because it gives the perception of him validating these people and their prophecies as inspired, by promoting them on his show. 2nd his views on Catholicism and validating that false gospel as well.

If you think about it, 2012 is only FOUR years away, wow, how time fly's. (hehe)

But about Jack, poor Jack, God love him, I will pray for Jack, I hope he is not misled, I don't watch him, but I don't have cable either.

No man knows the day, for a reason, (because we'd all charge up our credit cards and think we could slip away without paying them!!!),

we'd live for THAT last day, and not properly live for God and the spreading of the gospel.

We have been given time!!!!
today!!!!

we live for today,
tell someone the good news, Jesus Christ is alive!
