DH had the electronics wonk where he works check out the video. He got a major laugh out of it. The 'camera' and 'mic' were bogus. He said they were obviously glued in.
If one mounts a camera next to the AC/DC transformer the camera will have sooooooo much noise the picture would be indiscernible …,second the mic looks like it is just sitting on the circuit board.. so this is just a joke…..
Oh and whom ever sent this knows little if anything about electronics….or they would have known

:whisper Mine doesn't have either, and my TV's are OLD and not HDTV---boy, I outsmarted them! :heh
You and me too BNL. Just like the "tube", they only work if you feed them some electrons and flip that little "on" button. MY TV is a most important part of my house....it fills a big hole on the wall and entertainment center, is a great horizontal surface provider for storing "stuff", its a terrific dust collector......and besides, the cats love crawling on it.
Now what in thunder blunder boomers would I do with a new box? They want me to get the new TV.....fine. they gotta buy it for me and deliver it....and set it up. And it better have as many surfaces for me to store "stuff" on, collect dust and ledges for the cats to climb and sleep on.

:fear My computer does do this weird clicking thing sometimes. :tinfoil:tinfoil:tinfoil But I don't have a camera or mic on it so I guess it's just getting old.
That's probably your Hard Drive on it's last legs.

Do you have dial-up? Maybe your hamster is getting old, tired, and/or hungry. :)

That is funny....say it is a hoax so you won't have a million people opening up their boxes, while really installing cameras & mics, or whatever into them. Then if the cover up is blown you can go back and say it was really a hoax....:lol2...And if you have a U-tube video, well that just seals it right there...:hehee
But you know, given that they pushed the deadline back to June and most converter boxes were already manufactured/sold. If there is something fishy, it most likely is on the broadcast end and not the hardware...

Disabling the Little LED on your web cam ;)
Yeah. A sticky note ought to do it.

No, we have DSL, but my computer is older than dirt. :heh
I just noticed it when we moved a few months ago. When it's in sleep mode it does it. I pray it holds on a little longer. :twitch
Thanks!
Now, back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Well no, not quite :)
Right now the LED lets you know when the Camera is on.
But if we disable it, you'll never know when it's on :)
