If you are looking for an alternative way to homeschool, the following offer Christian-based homeschooling that does not involve the parent choosing the work to be covered. The child learns at home, using the curriculum the school sends (either workbooks to be completed or computer based material which is usually graded automatically). These schools are accredited K-12 and charge a reasonable tuition for learning material and record keeping.

Some children do not respond well to total parent-directed learning. This option may work, since the kids can work independently with little supervision. They have a certain number of pages to complete each day, usually 4, (using the PACE workbooks) from each of the core subjects. They can choose electives also, and feel more in control of their learning.

The parent has the benefit of having their child at home, seeing what they are learning, and scoring their work each day using Answer Key sheets. Completed workbooks are sent back to the school, usually twice a year. A report card is issued once a year.

It's worth looking into if you are searching for a different way to homeschool.

I'm aware of these 3 schools -- there are probably others you may find online.
