Well, I can tell you why that pizza was bad:preach. Fruit doesn't belong on pizza:lol2. For someone who doesn't like the color "pink" I'm surprised you would get fruit on a pizza. :)
A properly made Hawaiian Pizza is good - sounds like Buzz got a bad one.

Yes, the Little Ceaser's Pizzeria we have here has given us several bad ones. Ah, I long for the pizza I used to eat when I lived in NY. I can honestly say that when I lived there I never had a bad pizza.

I once bit into a slice of pizza that tasted minty. I spit it out and noticed that someone's gum was on the bottom side of the slice.

You obviously haven't heard all the tales about the teen fast food workers. You should feel lucky that's all you bit into. :aha

I consider myself a cheese pizza expert. Until I was diagnosed a diabetic, I was sometimes a daily pizza eater. About the only restaurant pizza I can ever remember I couldn't stand was at a buffet, where the pizza they had tasted like they just took it outta a microwave. I've had plenty of bad frozen pizzas, the worst was one that when it was done baking, the cheese was like a disgusting film on the top.

as far as frozen goes:
I like Red Baron, the crust tastes good
I usually pour olive oil over the foil
sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning
Slice the pizza and reassemble on the foil
cover pizza with extra cheese, shredded cheddar and Romano
add extra pepperoni, and whatever else is hiding in back of fridge
sprinkle more garlic powder, black pepper, and Italian seasoning over the top
add green chilis (and sometimes a can of anchovies)
cook on high rack at 420 for 10-12min
when done you just scoop a slice onto a plate
not bad for $5 :)

Sounds good, Buzz, but I have to disagree with you on the Parmesan - Romano is the stinkier of the two.

I think there are different kinds of both
I like to shred my own Romano
the canned grated parmesan is stinky to me
