Awesome Christian Get-Together

Hey! I'm a bit of a new member here. My name is Alex. Well, I'm making a post about this great little party someone from my church had at their house. It was absolutely AWESOME to be surrounded by such open, strong, and wise Christians. Neither of my parents are Christians, so I just don't get the kind of spiritual support, joy, and inspiration I got while around all those wonderful Christians at my own home. It was just so foreign and good to just listen to the conversations going on there. I hardly said a word all night. There was a couple who had been missionaries in China, and they told stories about things that had happened to them, like being arrested! You just knew their enourmous faith just by listening to them. It made me realize I'm just not as close to God as I should be by knowing about Him and what He says through the Bible. It also made me realize I'm just not as active for Him as I should be, telling people about Him and what He has done for me. It was humbling, and eye-opening and an absolute blessing. So I'm going to try to grow in those ways I mentioned. I feel this was a moment God was really exposing a lot to me, and I have to have the strength of spirit to act accordingly. But that's my praise! God is awesome!

That church get-together at your home sure did sound awesome! :nod I would have loved to be there!

I too, am so glad God used it to give you such a strong beautiful desire to grow closer to Him and to truly live for Him. How beautiful!

I'm sorry to hear your parents aren't Christians, but keep praying for them, and with meetings such as this at your home too, then that will all add to God working and moving in their lives too!

From the sounds of things, no doubt you're going to find yoruself growing closer to the Lord in leaps and bounds.
