Two weeks ago I woke up and found our basement flooded from a rupture in our water softener. It was there when we purchased our home and is 9 years old. It turns out the only part that failed was the only part with a ten year warranty. It was replaced for free, but then the new part made it too tall to fit back where it used to. I thought I would need to pay a plumber (money is real tight right now), but my brother-i- law knows how to sweat pipes, so the only thing it cost me is cleanup time and a couple of bucks. Thank God!!
