The very first 'oath' an initiate engages in requires that they:

Place a blindfold over their eyes as they are then led by another to bow before the 'head mason' and then they must say that "I am in darkness and have come seeking light". While doing this they are on their right knee, with their right breast exposed. The initiate then takes his finger and drags it across his throat from ear to ear and swears that this is what will happen to him if he shares what happens inside the lodge with anyone outside the lodge.

These men have a commitment to their fellow masons that exceeds any commitment to family, church, work ... it's all about the lodge. They function in society, yes, but their first allegiance is to their fellow mason and they will be there for him come what may. We have an acquaintance whom they were attempting to recruit to whom they assured "your financial future will be secure", "we take care of each other". This friend has a business and it seems they like to recruit business owners. They have approached this person three times even though he continues to say he serves Jesus Christ. In fact, perhaps in an attempt to change his mind one of the masons shared a little story with him: During WWII, American soldiers had captured German troops and had them lined up in a firing squad. One of the German soldiers held up his FM ring, and he was the only German soldier that was not shot all his comrades dropped - but not him. The mason attempting to recruit our acquaintance seemed quite proud as he felt it conveyed how close, and tight knit masons are. Just so happens the mason is a church goer with the one he is trying to recruit. Our acquaintance said, "You don't see the problem with that? I certainly don't see Christ in that." Masons love to tell you they are Christians. Their own literature clearly conveys their disdain for Christ. They worship and serve Lucifer and call him the 'light bearer'; the 'good god' and the 'great architect in the sky'...

The lower level masons may be deceived into thinking they are Christians, but the ones further up surely know whose they are. If I am able to locate an op I did well over a year ago, I will return to this post and copy the link for you.
Pray for anyone who is lost in this group. They need to have their eyes opened by God to the dangers of this affiliation it will most definitely draw them from Christ not to Him.

Found it. http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=8308&highlight=Freemasonry&page=4
There is excellent information by many; however, mine is post #77, if interested.

My father wanted my brother and I to grow up and become good Masons. But, one night, a fellow DeMolay member of my brother's shared with his friends in youth group about how he had been reading Anton LaVey's Satanic Bible and Satanic Rituals and found that LaVey, not only sung the praises of Jacques DeMolay, but credited Freemasonry with contributing the most to modern Satanism - and our friend showed the passages in the books as proof. 18 boys left DeMolay in one night, including my brother.

Does anyone here know what the difference is between a 32 and 33-degree mason? I've been wondering for a long time. I know a 32-degree mason, but am afraid to ask him. He may not even know.

I have a question that I would think to be on-topic.

The Shriners are interconnected with freemasonry are they not?
Such as the children's Shriner circus..?

When I see one, I usually see the other, I grew up in a village that prospered off of the Masons. Though I share the thought that they are a cult. I have some interesting stories pertaining to their inner sanctum and worship halls too, being a nosey kid. lol

From what I was told, an out of country service project.
