This is the flesh's propencity to worship anything but the One they should be worshipping. The Way of Cain explains this very well. The Children of Israel built the golden calf after just 40 days! of Moses not being there to keep them straight. Just 40 days! Even after the plagues, Red Sea, manna, quail, water from the rock, clothes not wearing out, etc.. That always got to me, just 40 days!
So, these ones, being deprived of Holy Spirit anointed teaching and preaching for years, are just jumping on the nearest line to the closest idol. It is really sad seeing these things happen, but they must come to pass for the Trib. to have it's preparation seen to. JMO

And by the way, I have been reading some of the posts on the Oprah site message board about the "A New Earth" study and it is SICKENING what some of these people are saying about their "god".... Many of them keep referring to themselves as "I Am", so I'm guessing that Eckhart uses the Biblical reference to "I Am" to mean that God is within all of us and that we are all gods. :twitch:doh

they are all shocking.... and yes, one of the videos shows how Oprah and Eckhart are teaching people that they are the "I am that I am", but that's just one shocking element- they twist Scripture in so many ways to say that we are each god.... it's disturbing to say the least.

You know, it's one thing to have a New Age book discussion, ok whatever, its a pile of lies... BUT.... When you start bringing the Bible into it and twisting the very Word of God to say something it outright DOESN'T and start using Scripture to add to your cause..... This just isn't right!! It infuriates me to no end.....

isn't it amazing that someone as 'intelligent' as Oprah would 'misunderstand' that phrase, 'I am a jealous God'?? Of all the times I have heard that phrase in a sermon it is stressed that God is jealous as in jealous over who reigns in our heart, not jealous as in jealous of me as a person! sheesh. :doh
