Clark's website describes the sculpture in equally vague terms.

"This project was inspired by my thoughts about 'icons' and religious symbols and whether they represent truth or merely represent," the website reads. "The sculpture poses a question that relates to social conventions, metaphysics, and the collective response of society in reaction to fearful and uncertain times, but doesn't impose an answer. For me, it has much more to do with the general public as followers than any leader granted power." I think he's using this to show the blindness of the Pied-piper-like following.

Ya know, I don't think this is even a democratic phenomena.... I mean, Bill Clinton wasn't 'worshipped' this way when he was in for his 2 terms. It's Obamamania...and maybe the race card?
(I wonder if the artist is black?)
this is just one of MANY references to O. as a 'messiah' figure. Some people have openly called him their 'savior'. SAD SAD SAD!!!!

Because they have forgotten God, they have put the faith and hope in Obama but when you try to tell this to people, they think YOU are the one with the problem.

There is no way I can even start to count the number of times I have been called ignorant, close-minded or crazy for not putting my faith and hope in Obama. :tsk

Obama is doing some mighty snazzy dancing for his public but behind the stage he is stabbing us all in the back. I'm starting to think that maybe only a few christians even see this.

It really makes me sick about all the things that Obama has reversed the Bush administration on. But, we all expected this. It's only going to get worse.

You know, gas masks are just plain freaky looking!!!

I've often thought...what if there were some sort of emergency broadcast bulletin to alert of an impending attack...I plan to keep one in my car. Can you imagine the looks of horror from those who weren't prepared? I would feel just awful for them, but I imagine they would think, "Now why didn't I think of that?" Maybe I will keep a spare or two.
