I think he might have said that just to distract from his problems. That would have gotten the forums and bloggers talking.

Now that Obama is the POTUS, I can see this going further up the ladder. He is already passing new laws to make this a deeper hate crime. Christians don't hate homosexuals we hate the sin not them.
I've found it interesting, the way those pushing the homosexual agenda have coined phrases to make it appear that those opposing them are hateful and unreasonable...
"Hate" crimes, homo "phobia"...to infer that we hate them or are afraid of them...when really most of us are simply disgusted by their behavior...it's just plain nasty. It's caused all manner of disease; that's a proven fact. They even spread their disease to innocent persons. Obama has completely ignored that little detail...
The Bible itself even notes the disease issue:
Romans 1:27 (New International Version)
27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

You know what? I believe when it comes to Oprah the greatest gift we have from God (scuse the redundancy) is prayer. That and another great gift..the OFF button on the remote.:hehee

Oprah tackles new issue: 'Gay is a gift from God'
Pastor claims Almighty made all people, saying, 'You are good' – no exceptions

On the third day of her televised "Best Life" week-long series, even Oprah Winfrey was stunned to hear one of her pastor panelists, Rev. Ed Bacon, declare, "Being gay is a gift from God."
With wide eyes, Winfrey responded, "Well, you are the first minister I've ever heard say, 'Being gay is a gift from God,' I can tell you that."
The comment was made earlier this month on the "Your Spiritual Journey" segment of Winfrey's "Best Life Week" by Rev. Bacon of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, Calif., a church described by Pasadena Weekly as "one of the most socially progressive religious institutions in America."
The comment was so controversial that Winfrey invited Bacon back four days later via video link to explain himself.
"Tell us, what did you mean by that comment?" Winfrey asked.
"I meant exactly what I said," Bacon responded with a wide smile. "It is so important for every human being to understand that he or she is a gift from God, and particularly people who are marginalized and victimized in our culture. Gay and lesbian people are clearly outcasts in many areas of our life, and it is so important for them to understand that when God made them, God said, 'You are good.'"

Typical bypassing of the question of sin. Yes, our Lord conversed with sinners, but at NO time expressed the idea that SIN (as defined in the Old Testament) was a GIFT from God!!
In his sermon, this guy refers to the creation story in Genesis when God pronounced his creation "very good." He bypasses any mention of the serpent and the fall...
No wonder he got so many calls and emails of joy...he was giving the green light to continue in sin!
We need to pray for this man; he'll have to answer for his failure to admonish people for sin:
James 3
Taming the Tongue
1Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
Not saying it shouldn't be done in a caring, loving manner, but to allow someone to justify and be comfortable that sin is pleasing to a Just and Holy God...well, I wouldn't like to have to answer for that...

Exactly!
Ever since his arrest, everything he has done has been to try to gain favor with potential jurors. All I see in this comment is him trying to win over any jurors that are Oprah fans. The man is crooked to the bone. He doesn't care for this state and he only wants to look out for himself and line his own pockets. I say lock him up and throw away the key. I'm sick of the press giving him all this airtime for him to keep throwing around excuses and the whole, "I've done nothing wrong, this is all about me butting heads with lawmakers." Like we are oblivious to the fact that he tried to sell the senate seat and shake down a childrens hospital for campaign contributions. I'm so sick of living in Illinois. I NEED OUT!

I haven't watched Oprah in years. And I am having a hard time ever believing that she was ever 'born-again' and covered in the blood of Jesus, and that she could even be considered a back slider, because I have been back slidden many times, and I NEVER even then, denied Jesus Christ.
2ndly, if she had a problem with the term 'jealously' in regards to God, why didn't she ask her Minister what he mean't by that? Maybe he could have told her that God is a jealous God because He wants you to worship HIM and no one else.
It's easy to put God in a box. Even tho Oprah claims she is not, that is what she is doing. Putting God in a box and making him in to what she wants God to be. She wants God to be nice and passive and not remind her of her sins.
And what is scary, is that she is taking millions of viewers with her.
Oprah needs the saving blood of Jesus Christ, who is the only true God and who is the only way to heaven.

I kind of agree. The few press conferences I've seen or heard of seem to be very bizzare on his part: coming out "fashionably late," quoting poetry, trotting out regular citizens to use as props or visual aids of all the people that will suffer if he is removed from office, comparing his arrest and prosecution to Pearl Harbor of all things. Has he even once come out and flat denied any of the accusations against him? I think sometimes that he just opens his mouth and says whatever comes first to his mind.
I like Shep Smith's observation that they are all on "Planet Blago" where the time moves slower, thus explaining why he is constantly late to his press conferences. As I understand it, this lateness has been normal for him even before this whole scandal came out.

I doubt Oprah would take the pay cut.
