Kung

Kung, I had a problem with my left shoulder when I was in my early twenties. I went to the doc and he wanted to shave 1/4 inch off my clavicle. I got a second opinion and it turns out my shoulder was just inflamed. A few weeks on medicine and a couple weeks of rest cured it.
That being said... I am now in PT for my right shoulder. I would prefer the surgery now I think. It feels wrong to be paying someone to twist my arm, literally.
Well, the problem with that is that I've done all that. I've:
- had 3 or 4 weeks of PT
- done absolutely NO upper body working out
- had 2 or 3 steriod/pain management shots
- etc.
I've done everything that can be done, and it still hurts. What sucks is that it doesn't hurt all the time; but it hurts when it 'counts' - when I try to do pushups, when I do situps, when I workout my upper body at all, etc.
So it's one of those situations where for a while, the solution is going to hurt a lot worse in the short-term than the problem...but after about 2 or 3 months, it'll be good to go. :)
