Simone,

I agree with you. To me, this is nothing more than simple Idolatry. We need to stop fantasizing that this could be the "image of Jesus". I highly doubt that it is... for the reasons you mentioned. I think it's a relic that Satan is using to get foolish people to stop focusing on the real Jesus, and back to idolatry, just IMHO. :ohno

Don't group everyone together. Some people just find it interesting. Some of us like to study historical events and find it interesting, like some like to read books or sew or whatever hobby they enjoy.
I am sure there are some that worship it, just like they do money, or other stuff that keeps them away from God. But someone showing an interest in it doesn't mean they are idolizing it.
Some just find history interesting. Hey watching The History Channel is a whole lot better than some of the other things showing on tv.

I think most of us if we're true Christians know better than to worship an object, even the Shroud of Turin.

Well, I'm still interested in seeing more concerning this. If it is from satan, then I know the Holy Spirit will guide me to that truth.

If someone was looking to this article or show thinking that this IS what Jesus looked like or thinking "this is the truth", or watching it for purposes of idolizing an image of Jesus then I could see the potential problem, but to watch this as nothing more of an interest in what they have to say or an interest from a historical perspective, I can't see what the big fuss is about. Sometimes it's just a curiousity and interest but that doesn't mean the person is going to worship idols because they watched the program.

Can a believer not watch a program like this without having to worry about others infering they will end up or already do worship idols? :twitch

Thank you......

Being called an idol worshipper because you want to watch a historical program is ridiculous. Just because you show an interest in a historical artificat doesn't mean you are going to worship it.
I have seen people gush, go bananas and have more threads (pages and pages) over animals or chocolate than I have seen over the Shroud. To me that is showing a little bit more idolatry than watching a tv show. And that is just IMHO.

Please.

Oh and think the threads on doggies (especially little naughty Bostons) and chocolate are hilarious and fun.....I was just making a point....

It does not make me worship it. I stick to what the Bible tells me.

That doesn't mean it is from God, though.
