Some believe a war related to Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17 will take place before Ezekiel 38/39. There are some articles out there. Look up a guy named Bill Salus. He's a proponent of this view.

One of the points to consider is that the list of nations in Ezek. 38-39 does not include the countries/areas that currently border Israel. This brings up the question, why would Jordan and Syria and Gaza and Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon not join in with Iran in an attack on Israel? A logical answer is that they cannot because in a war before that invasion they have become too weak to attack Israel (Bill Salus says they've been conquered by Israel).
Two prophetic points: Is. 17 talks of Damascus' total destruction. Ps. 83 describes the current situation of all these neighboring countries conspiring against Israel, and calls upon God to make them "like stubble before the wind."

In Ezekiel 38 God states that Israel is living in the midst or middle of the land. This would be the land outlined to Abraham by God. The middle of this land would put Israel living in land currently occupied by Arabs. So, something has to occur to make Israel move to the middle of the land, and Psalm 83 & Isaiah 17 seem to answer this perfectly. Psalm 83 states that the direct neighbors of Israel are so badly defeated that they lose their land and become like tumbleweeds, or refugees.
Some like to say that these direct neighbors are actually included in Ezekiel 38 & 39, but just lumped together as many other nations. That is simply not the case. Ezekiel actually lays out judgment for these nations before chapters 38 & 39, so if they were listed before these chapters, then, why didn't he list them by name in 38 & 39? Answer, they aren't apart of this coalition of nations.
In Ezekiel 38 & 39 when Ezekiel states: many other nations with you, I believe he did not list these nations because he didn't recognize any of these territories. For example, all the Stan nations that will be with Russia. Indonesia wouldn't have been a country Ezekiel would have been familiar with either.

Joel was able to hold a conference where he spoke to 300 Israeli Jews and Arabs, in attendance. He was able to share some prophecy with them and he started with the war of God and Magog. Praise God that he was able to share some prophecy with them. He has some really good notes that he shares on his site that he shared at the conference.

I was just reading this at his site. He also did an interview with Skip Heitzig and it was a good tie into this article.
But not different, really from his book and DVD called Epicenter, which is great by the way.

This is an interesting article (in 3 parts) recently written by Joel Rosenberg.
Joel is at this moment, in Israel for his yearly Epicentre Conference.
Please pray for his safety, and all those involved in the Conference and the Joshua Fund.

[Tuesday, May 10 update: Today Israel celebrates her 63rd Independence Day. May the Lord bless and protect all Israelis and draw them close to His heart. May the Lord also bless and protect the Palestinian people and give His mercy and grace to both sides of this painful conflict. Jesus said, "Love your neighbor" and "Love your enemy." Not easy, but the only way forward.]

Yes, and it's fascinating to me that the Lord has caused Joel to be in Israel right now when all of these things are happening. IMO he's a reliable and balanced voice of what's going on over there. I'll be watching his blog for updates.

There is an Epicenter app available for free on iTunes! :D and podcasts from previous years are available for free, also! They are video, not just audio. :D
I watched almost all of them and they were pretty good!
