I found out that a woman at church is going to be doing palm reading at the opening of a new Border's book store.
A couple of years ago we chatted, and she told me how the Lord had delivered her from a lot of occultic practices. Now THIS?
I tried Googling palm reading to find studies or articles on why it is against christianity, but every time I found a link that seemed decent, it didn't work and couldn't display the page.
I had a great collection of scriptures against things like Harry Potter, psychics, etc., on my old computer, but it crashed.
I was hoping someone would have something already compiled that I could share with this person.
I know there are dozens of scriptures against sorcery, divination, etc., but I don't think any specifically mention palm reading, so I'm looking for an analysis of why and how it is wrong.
Thanks!
[oh, and I don't feel she should be allowed to sing with the worship team since she is practicing paganry, so if you have any information on that as well, I'd so much appreciate it]

Hi Val...the Gift of "Discerning of Spirits" is given to believers so that they can discern good from evil.. I have a link to help http://www.spirithome.com/discrnmt.html ..
pray to JESUS for more spiritual discernment.. HE gives it to protect HIS children against deception..:nod.. Please dont listen to this person, obvious she has NOT been delivered from all occult practices :ohno..She has been sent by the enemy to infiltrate your church..remember the enemy is called the "Father of Lies"..The pastor who is either weak or misinformed needs to take care of this issue...:shocked
Instead of believeing and trusting the proven word of ALMIGHTY GOD, you would actually believe someones future can be shown on the palm of their hand..:gaah
think about,,, it just sounds ridiculous!!
First of all Palm Reading is Blasphemous and from Satan....Satan will do ANYTHING to keep you from reading, trusting and believing in GODS Holy word in scripture....its kinda like Horoscopes, foretelling ones future....This is called the "Spirit of Divination...u know fortuntellers, soothsayers and is OPPOSED to GOD!!
go to http://truthcontinuum.tripod.com/Divination.html
also
please go to Jan Markells website...www.olivetreeviews.org and look on the left side column.. click on "Spiritual Deception" and read her articles.... She has excellent spiritual discernment...youll learn alot..
Be blessed...:)

To me Palm reading, tor cards, crystal balls etc..all are of witchcraft....there is nothing good to come from them. Tell her Satan is one of the best decivers around. God would "NOT" tell her this is ok...:ohno ....It's from Satan
Believe God's words only? God only knows our future "NOT" palm readers..

You guys don't have to convince me, I KNOW it is against the Lord! I'm not fooled one bit by this woman.
What I was looking for (and thanks for the links CHRISTinCheryl) are studies/write-ups/research that someone has already done that I can share with this woman. I honestly can't believe you thought I was okay with palm reading!
A friend directed me to look up "soothsayers" in my concordance ... so I'll try that too, after I read the links provided by Cheryl.
I just want to be armed with enough scripture and knowledge to hopefully put a stop to this nonsense. I'll do the groundwork, the Holy Spirit will do the rest.
Thanks for your replies.

Oh, Jan Markell has wonderful articles on the evils of Harry Potter. I used to have a huge collection of scriptures, by topic, on my old computer, but it died.
At the end of the first paragraph at truthcontinuum, it mentions palm reading.
Thanks again!

We do not need to "study" about occult practices.
The Bible tells us to stay away from darkness.
I think we have enough info on here. Jan Markell's site is awesome.
I am locking this now. Thank you all.
