[QUOTE=Saved by Grace_06;122952]Look how good God is. He left the riches of his glory and became poor so that we might become riches. Yep...Jesus suffered and died so we can get private jets and bmws and mansions and all sorts of riches. Oh yea of little faith. You don't have a benz? You should name it and claim it, in Jesus name.

Should I be concerned that my church (I use the term loosely cause I'm not as involved there as I used to be) leaves this man's literature out in front for people to take home? I always have thought he was a little weird and I'm not sure I like the fact that my church is passing out his junk?

I think that your concern is well placed, perhaps you should tell the Pastor of your concern, it may open a door for God's truth to be lifted up in that Church. My main concern about the W.O.F preachers is that they don't serve the God of Israel, rather they serve the God of the Egyptians, who were really into wealth and extreme excess. May the Lord bless you and yours.

Yes, you should. You should contact the leadership and ask them why they have his materials out for people to take. It's possible that they may be ignorant that he teaches heresy. It may also be possible that they agree with his heresy. That's why you should talk to the leadership and show his teachings, compare them to scripture and ask if they will keep supporting him. (Some will because to many in the church today, doctrinal debates of any kind are just about semantics and just divide the Church when you know we should all just love Jesus and hold hands.)

Apostacy is a sign of the times, but at the same time Christian leaders should condemn false teachers and proclaim sound doctrine while we do have these men/women teaching this. God will judge these men, but I worry about those that they influence who may be naive about the spiritual poison they ingest. It will either stunt their growth as a Christian or destroy their faith (ex: say when, they come up with a terrible cancer and it's never healed because they 'don't have enough faith' and go to hate God because they were never taught about the right God to begin with.)

Thanks, all of you who answered. I have tried to raise this issue with a couple of times with people who I trusted but noone who was really in a position to actually DO anything. I guess I'm kind of afraid to confront anyone in a position of authority. Also, the general feeling I got when I raised the issue in the past was that I was being critical. There's a group of people in this church who pretty much run the show and do not want things shaken up.

I am honestly not sure they DO know what this man teaches, to be honest. But I think I am leaving this church anyway because this is only one of a number of issues I have grown concerned about recently, including the fact that I was unaware the church had co-sponsered a Benny Hinn "crusade" here in our town (I knew some people had gone but didn't know the church had officially sanctioned it til after it was over.)

Well, if you are gonna leave for sure, it might help them if you left a note or
letter,telling them why.

Okay, I don't understand.

Is the apostasy having enough money for a plane or is it WOF?

Making money in legal ways outside of your church does not seem to be sin to me. And there seems, sometimes, a real eagerness to lable some very good preachers WOF because it seems nearly all of guys who are well-known make somebody's list.

I am NOT endorsing or condemning Mr. Copeland as I do not know the man nor attend his church. Just trying to understand - because if having a nice chunk of money makes you evil or if you believe in the healing power of Jesus- why is this apostasy?

Thanks

Just a thought,

Yeah, I'm not sure it would be well received and probably would at best be ignored or I'd be told all manner of evil was going to befall me for criticizing (sp?) God's people, but since I work in the nursery if I go I'm going to have to tell the lady in charge at least that I AM leaving so maybe that will open a door for me to be able to discuss my concerns with someone a little higher up than me in a non-confrontational manner.
