Okay, I don't understand.
Is the apostasy having enough money for a plane or is it WOF?
Making money in legal ways outside of your church does not seem to be sin to me. And there seems, sometimes, a real eagerness to lable some very good preachers WOF because it seems nearly all of guys who are well-known make somebody's list.
I am NOT endorsing or condemning Mr. Copeland as I do not know the man nor attend his church. Just trying to understand - because if having a nice chunk of money makes you evil or if you believe in the healing power of Jesus- why is this apostasy?
Thanks
The problem isn't believing in the 'healing power of Jesus' or in having a 'nice chunk of money.' The problem is teaching that you have a God-given right as a Christian to those things and that you can actually demand it from God! (Hence the whole name it and claim it label.) God has promised us neither. We won't be physically healed every time we ask. Nor will we get all the money we ask for. Why? Because God knows what we need and not us.

Yeah, I'm not sure it would be well received and probably would at best be ignored or I'd be told all manner of evil was going to befall me for criticizing (sp?) God's people, but since I work in the nursery if I go I'm going to have to tell the lady in charge at least that I AM leaving so maybe that will open a door for me to be able to discuss my concerns with someone a little higher up than me in a non-confrontational manner.
ummm yes, If you would be told that " all manner of evil would befall you" for speaking out against something that didnt look like it was from Jesus, I think its safe to say
RUN!!! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!DONT LOOK BACK!!!! (but most of all pray about what God wants you to do) I do not know?, but I would run,
...that DOES NOT sound right AT ALL....Im sure theres a good chruch out there somewhere for ya.
Until then Check out - In Touch Charles Stanley- Hes on the tube sundays and you can listen to a message or watch one on his sight whenever you want.
Good Luck to you. God bless.

When I got started going to this church I was kind of ignorant about how easy it was to fall prey to people who teach things that are false and some of the things being taught I just didn't know were wrong. I've studied and learned a lot on my own now and I know some of the things being done are unbiblical but I had to learn the hard way and it took me awhile to begin to see this. Oh well, learning experience I guess.

I was watching a Rod Parsley camp meeting a few years ago. I'll never forget how he had his wife stand up and show the congregation the brand new shiny HUGE diamond ring that he had just purchased for her. He showed it off, then told how everyone could "earn" such a prize if they would just "claim it" for themselves. Even his wife seemed embarrassed by this blatant show of pride. I've never watched him since then.
I know there's nothing wrong with having nice things. But when they are used to demonstrate a person's spirituality, then I think it's sinful.
There are many who have just as much faith, but will never see such luxuries. Personally, I don't need to have such things. I'll quote a 12-yr. old boy in my Sunday School class. We were discussing how the riches of this world are the only rewards some people will ever have. He said, "I'd rather have a good eternity than a good life." Out of the mouths of babes.
Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God ..... words to live by.

Wow. I can't even think of anything else to say to that. :)

I was watching Ken Copeland yesterday and he said that we are Lords of our own lives underneath our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Not really sure what the heck that means.
This guy is one of the most confusing preachers. I never understand what he's talking about.

He is the clearest example of a false teacher as there can be, I think he has lost his marbles.
