And to answer your question Hobbes...
Gurhkas... VERY expensive!
Someone gave me two - they were sealed in a glass tube, with a stopper that made it airtight, and then the stopper was sealed in wax.
A truly great cigar!
Also had a Cuban once... it was not as good as the Gurhka.
Gonna buy some more someday.

we parents are doing everything we can to help prevent our kids smoking, in case you haven't heard - if my kids came home and said 'x is a christian and he smokes' - my response would be 'x is not a christian yet honey, let's pray for him'

Agreed. CAO Gold is my current favorite.
With regard to humidors, I purchased a test tube with a gel substance inside. You fill the tube with water, the gel expands, and the tube maintains about 70-80% humidity in your humidor. With this tube, you could use a regular cedar cigar box as a humidor and still get good results.
Cheers,
Hobbes
i have seen that gel sold in craft and hobby stores... i also have some nice old cedar boxes.... i may be able to get something really nice together and make a gift of it :)

Ok - I can't not respond to this.
What makes "X" not a Christian?
So, he has believed in his heart, and confessed with his mouth, that
Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD, and that GOD has raised Him from the
dead...Romans 10, remember?:
Romans 10: 9-11
"... that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
But because he (X) smokes, the salvation of his soul is null and void?
So "X is not a Christian honey... let's pray for him?"
"Lets pray for him."
So, he cannot be a Christian until he satisfies OUR
criteria for true salvation?
As always, I am blind to the part that says this person's salvation is null and void if the now saved person smokes.
People will be debating this point, as well as Christians drinking alcohol, Christians getting tattoos, etc., etc., until we are all safe at Home.
Like many other things, I think that this is a "non-issue" that has gummed-up too many people's lives for too long. If you are a Christian Believer in Jesus Christ and you are involved in something that is not addressed in scripture, and you do not feel a conviction in your spirit about...then to you, it is not a sin.
I smoke the occasional cigar. I drink a few beers a week. I take a shot of tequila to knock-down a head cold. I have four tattoos. I ride a motorcycle - sometimes without a helmet. I say a bad word when I get really mad, or when I smash my finger on something. Are any of these sins?
However... I have confessed with my mouth and I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that God has raised Him from the dead, so now my name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life. I have been sealed by the HS for the Day of Redemption. I try to show my love for my neighbors by doing what I can in whatever ways I can to serve them and to provide for them when they are needy.
I refuse to believe that all that Jesus Christ has done in my life, and all the lessons I have learned and all I have done to try to serve Christ, is null and void by a triviality such as smoking a cigar (or cigarette, or pipe).
If someone is offended or stumbles because of a pre-conceived notion of what are saved and what are not-saved actions, then it behooves us to point out that nothing we do, other than believing and confessing Jesus Christ, saves us.
Jesus did all the work.
I must bring my trieste on Legalism to an end ...for now.

This has gone from a cigar question to ' if you smoke your not a christian' with people mis quoting the scripture about the body being a temple.
If a person goes down the 'your body is a temple' and takes that scripture out of context, then I can really make that person feel sinful just from eating.
MOST Americans eat pork, yet pork is 'unclean', yet, many will misuse another scripture to say it is o.k.
I can say, if you don't work out and exercise then you are not taking care of the temple, if you are fat you are not taking care of the temple, etc.. etc.. etc.
I don't find anywhere in the bible where it says smoking is a sin. Is it smart ? well, cigerettes are not smart. Cigar's ? once in a while ? I think the jury is still out on that one. I used to think if you are a christian then you can't drink any alchol, WRONG !!!!
that isn't what the bible says at all, it basically says don't get drunk, don't be given over to strong drink.
If I get a head cold, I'm tossing back a shot of rum a little before bed time.
I grealy enjoy the smell of fine cigars. Still don't think I want to 'smoke' one. but I like the smell of coffee, but hate drinking the stuff.
When enjoying a cigar, how hard is it to remember to not 'inhale' you only want the smoke in your mouth to enjoy the flavor. How do you do that with out inhaling deeply into your lungs ?
I know my wife wouldn't mind me enjoying a cigar once in a while, she enjoys the scent of cigar. She even offered to start buying them for my birthday if I want. (My wife is fantastic sometimes <G> )..
oh well. back to my point. There is only ONE requirement in the new testament for salvation, and if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart then you are saved.

I guess then the salvation is in question for people that drink diet sodas and milk as well. Diet sodas contain Aspartame which is known to turn to formaldehyde at temperature and has been linked to poisonings. Milk is an unatural chemical cocktail containing hormones and antibiotics and the antibiotics in low doses basically causes diseases/contagions to adapt so that when an outbreak does sweep a nation the antibiotics will be useless... which may kill us all. There isn't even really any evidence that second hand smoke can harm anyone, and the surgeon general once said it did but then retracted due to the absolute lack of evidence. Yet, we may all really die because people insist on drinking MILK! Booooooo....
Ok, grace to all my fellow real Ice Cream lovers :hug

you know tobacco kills more people than alcohol, illicit drugs and car crashes combined ... you know teenagers are influenced by what they see others doing ... you know tobacco is addictive for most people ... you just don't care
faith without works is dead

tobacco vs milk ... you're kidding, right? ... just in case you're not ... go look it up ... preferably using sources that have some scientific and medical credibility ... and here's a clue, if the site has pictures of aliens it's probably not very reliable

Good keywords are Milk + Puss + Antibiotics + Hormones or something along those lines. If this were a thread about this subject I'd maybe repost some of my old research. Also research Aspartame + formaldehyde while you are at it. Suddenly all those "Christians" aren't so far away from the tree as people would like to get you to think, eh? Milk, quite possibly the thing attributed to many millions of deaths in the future. :nod

I like the bubble gum cigars... they're well-balanced with a lot of complexity. toward the end they become more powerful but never harsh. not much smoke, but the burn and draw are superb. puts candy cigarettes to shame.
