BOAO, China – Action star Jackie Chan said Saturday he's not sure if a free society is a good thing for China and that he's starting to think "we Chinese need to be controlled."

Chan's comments drew applause from a predominantly Chinese audience of business leaders in China's southern island province of Hainan.

The 55-year-old Hong Kong actor was participating in a panel at the annual Boao Forum when he was asked to discuss censorship and restrictions on filmmakers in China. He expanded his comments to include society.

"I'm not sure if it's good to have freedom or not," Chan said. "I'm really confused now. If you're too free, you're like the way Hong Kong is now. It's very chaotic. Taiwan is also chaotic."

Actually, Bruce Lee was a devout athiest who viewed Christians as 'delusional fools'

King James Bible Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

I wonder why people have a problem with chaos? What's wrong with chao? I guess only those seek perfection don't like chaos. Like a mother-in-law visiting her son's wife with a messy house and a baby. And judged her for it.

There's a difference between being free, and all out anarchy. I don't think Jackie knows the difference.

No he does. He is a Celebrity and rubs elbows with the likes of the Chinese Premier. He lives in a world where he is waited on and pampered, while the millions of Chinese are left to fend for themselves.

In a Communist regime, he is treated like a god, as are other people in positions of privlidge. In a Communist regime, the masses and rank-and-file only exists to carry out the whims of such people.

I'm sure Jackie Chan does not want to interfere with the Status Quo... especially when he is the one who profits from it.
