Napolitano regrets anger over intelligence report

Associated Press - April 19, 2009 9:43 AM ET

WASHINGTON (AP) - Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano says she regrets that some people took offense over a report warning that right-wing extremist groups were trying to recruit disgruntled troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

But she says "a number of groups far too numerous to mention" were targeting returning veterans to carry out domestic terrorism attacks.

She said the warning report that went out American law enforcement agencies was consistent with reports that were issued before.

Napolitano spoke on CNN's "State of the Union."

Two things caught my attention about what my former governor has said. First, she "regrets that some people took offense." Isn't that a cop out? I'm sorry you were upset, but not sorry for upsetting you.

Second, and much more interesting, is that she claims that so many groups have attempted to recruit veterans to carry out domestic terrorist attacks that there are too many to mention? Have I been under a rock these years? I have yet to hear of a single report of any domestic terrorist organization attempting to recruit a veteran. Is she just making this stuff up now?

Ya! Ok, just start by mentioning the top ten? That can't be too difficult. :rolleyes

In other words she still stands by the report and is mad that people found out about it and is mad that people are mad about it.

There are no domestic terrorist organizations. There are plenty of conservative groups and militias who would defend our freedom in a heartbeat if we ever turned into a totaltiarian country, who are being smeared as domestic terrorist organizations by the liberal left.

She know that most veterans are conservative, and since they have fought for our country before, they would fight for it again, and wants to alienate them. Same with Christians and conservatives in general. She doesn't care about any anger over this report. She just regrets that there are people who stand up for themselves and don't just roll over.

You know what is? It's all about Timothy McVeigh. Apparently Ms. Napolitano had something to do with his prosecution, so naturally she should assume that all Vets are
psychotic terrorists? :shrug. Come on, these documents are not produced without the
blessing and direction of agency heads. This garbage has come directly from her!
Of course, "end-times" prophecy proponents don't have a lot of beneficial comments
for homosexuals either :thinking I knew she would prove to be utterly worthless and
she has now proven it in spectacular fashion.

The reports on left wing extremism and right wing extremism were both commissioned under Bush. This has been in the works from DHS since last year.

Well, she's in charge now and stamped her approval on it.
I've worked in government plenty and I know how this stuff
works. She had to eat some of it already because she got
into this idea that they're just going to do anything they want
like Holder found out. She is NOT competent to hold this
position and is out of touch as are many other bureaucrats.

Well PLEASE right your State Reps. guys ASAP and let your voice be heard regarding "The Hate Crime Bill" this week. This is absolutely insane and it will keep conservatives from free speech and eventually affect the church.
