Here is an interesting article that I recently found: The Secret author influenced by spirit guides! (http://lighthousetrailsresearch.com/blog/index.php?p=520&more=1&c=1)
The DVD that I mentioned also addresses the spirit guides.

What is interesting about these people who buy into the secret is that they are using God's laws and they are working for them! I know most of you won't agree with this but God's laws work for anyone when used.
So how do we love these people with Jesus love and reach out to them so that they can come into relationship with Jesus?
Blessings,
Caneman

If we are not abiding IN CHRIST, we are going to be in big trouble. If we go around saying that we have been walking with Christ for 10, 20, 30 years etc. we are in big trouble. To be safe we must walk IN HIM not with Him. There is a big difference.
Excellent point, and huge difference! :)

They are not using God's laws, but a god's lies.
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ but though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.Gal 1:6-9
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.Gal 2:16Gal 2:16

They need to realize they are sinners first. They need to realize they have broken God's commandments.
Being bold
And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. Phil. 1:14
Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient, Phile. 1:8
Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, Acts 13:46a
There is no need for believers to "conform" to this world:
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.Rms. 12:2:thumbup
The need for repentence.
The need for the Savior Jesus who took our sins upon Himself and died for us that we might have eternal life.
THAT is the Gospel.

Many of these "secret" people are former church goers and tried "christianity" and it did not work for them for one reason or another. How are we going to love them like Jesus loved sinners, if they see the love of Jesus in us they will sense it whether they are conscious of it or not. Jesus rebuked the religious leaders, but he was compassionate and loving toward sinners. They don't care about our doctrine, a religious argument won't persuade them... remember that these people read the bible, so slamming them with bible verses won't work either... they will know Him by our love, so how do we do that? Maybe invite one of them to lunch and develop a respectful relationship with them to find about who they are, what their lives are like, and what they believe and why...??? I dunno, just throwing that out as a thought... :) It is too easy to slam all these people on this forum, how about working together to ask Jesus how He can love them through us and maybe God can use us together.

It is not up to US to the conversion but the message. It is the work of the HOly Spirit. If our message is a silent one how will people know anything. (You can win someone to the Dalai Lama by being their friend too)
We are to only plant the seed. Then the Holy Spirit does the conviction.
And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. Luke 9:5
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. Mark 6:11
When Jesus spoke--he was very direct and not lovey-dovey!
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. John 5:14
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.John 8:11

Jesus rebuked the religious leaders, but he was compassionate and loving toward sinners.
He told them to go and sin no more. They did or did not, but he never just sat there letting them wallow in their sin. Jesus never ever let anyone be comfortable in their sin, or continue in it just to keep the peace.
Real compassion is for the eternal soul, not being best friends hoping your love will show them they should repent :tsk
Real love is doing the difficult thing of calling sin what it is, and calling out false gospel for what it is.
You love the sinner by helping them see what is barring them from Christ. It doesn't mean you go around screaming 'turn or burn' but it SURE doesn't mean you get cozy with the apostates.

They take the form of religiosity and churchianity but deny true salvation, which is the only reason to have church (a group of saved believers)

We love them by giving them the truth, if they reject truth it is their problem, not ours, it is up to the Holy Spirit to convict them. If they didn't reject truth they would already be saved.

Buying them lunch won't help them anymore than talking to them online.
Romans 1 descibes their course.
The Holy Spirit will continue placing people in their lives pointing them towards salvation until they are beyond help.
