Couple awarded $21 million in Florida 'wrongful birth' case
Quote:
Had the disorder been correctly diagnosed, a test would have indicated whether the couple's second child also was afflicted and they would have terminated the pregnancy, according to the lawsuit.
This is a really disturbing precedent. So now we can sue for money for missing an opportunity to practice eugenics through abortion. Also sue for midiagnosing birth defect? Is this defect that easily found??
Lets determine which parent passed the gene, i think that person needs to be sued too. Also sue the family line all the way back to the person introduced it into the gene pool of the family.
I suppose you could also sue the doctor who didn't stick the scissors you know where...or is that illegal now?

BAD precedent. Bad judge.
Judges are politicians too, we have got to make them accountable for their decisions.

2Ti 3:1 ΒΆ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Well you can't really blame someone for wanting an abortion of their baby will just bring misery and suffering into their life anyway.
*Waits for people who probably have never known how much parents of retarded children suffer to scream "LIFE at all costs!"*
Cory have YOU ever raised a special needs child? I'm screaming "LIFE at all cost" and I have a special needs child. My son is 7 now. He is blind and developmentally delayed. He was born 16 weeks premature and he is an AWESOME blessing from God. He was a twin but his brother was still born. It is a challenge but raising kids of any type usually is.

My son was born with a cleft lip and palate. I was told by a doctor to abort in my fifth month because some test came out bad and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. He always had his back to the ultrasound.
Those first few years of his life were hard. Multiple surgeries, a child in constant pain, who had difficulty eating and sleeping. I cried so many nights while he cried in my arms. But I can't imagine my life without him!!!
He is now 11 years old and is on fire for the Lord and has lead most of his friends to Christ!!! What a tragedy it would have been if I had listened to that doctor.

I think it's heartbreaking for anyone to suggest that they can pick and choose whether to have a child based on it's level of "perfection," and kill the ones who don't "measure up," like children are pieces of fruit in the store or something. Life is hard, and raising a special needs child, I am sure, is extremely difficult, and blessings to all of you who have had the courage to follow God's plan, even though you may have had to grieve for a time also, which is perfectly okay. :thumb

As a mother of a child with "problems", I can tell you that God gave me that child because I needed him. God wanted me to become a better mother and I am through my second son. Let me tell you...I've been learning to trade my tears for joy and realize why God gave him to me. :)
And, yes...GOD gave him to me. Just like He GAVE that child to those parents. It is NOT compatible to believe in abortion and be a Christian. We know that God creates life and who are we to try to take that life?
I also take care of mentally retarded people and they give me more joy than any "normal" patient ever has. :)

Amen! It is how we deal with adversity that can make a potentially ruining situation a glorious one. Through Christ, all things are possible.
BTW, Michelle, by "Colon Queen," are you referring to the punctuation mark or the intestine, or something else altogether?:idunno:aha

Chapter and verse for supporting abortion because of perceived future hardships?
Chapter and verse on where we are told it's okay to murder based on possible hardships?
Chapter and verse on where God never uses hardships for His own reasons in each life?
You either serve the worlds agenda or you serve God. Can't have both.
