Amen! It is how we deal with adversity that can make a potentially ruining situation a glorious one. Through Christ, all things are possible.
BTW, Michelle, by "Colon Queen," are you referring to the punctuation mark or the intestine, or something else altogether?:idunno:aha

Not to derail the subject, but Christians need to go to www.ACLJ.org and sign a petition asking Congress to DE-FUND planned parenthood.
Abortion is sickening enough (especially late term abortions and partial birth abortions), but to make tax payers pay for everyone's murder of unborn children is over the top.
It's so sad that a person does not want their child. But to ask a doctor to get rid of it is "one sin covering up another sin".
Late term and partial birth is infanticide.

We all have been paying for abortions with our tax dollars for years, sadly.

I had never heard that term until today, but they are actually out there. There are links about it on the internet. I just don't understand how any true Christian can condone abortion, in any case. It totally contradicts God's desires, as was mentioned earlier in the thread.

Well you can't really blame someone for wanting an abortion of their baby will just bring misery and suffering into their life anyway.
*Waits for people who probably have never known how much parents of retarded children suffer to scream "LIFE at all costs!"*
Parents of impaired children usually find more patience, grace, and love in their family.

Cory, we've all pretty much jumped all over you and, if I have been hurtful to you, I'm asking you to forgive me. I would also like to help you understand my position. There are a couple of genetic defects that run in my husband's family. As a result of having been cut off from part of his family and also 1 of the diseases having never been identified by the medical community until after we had kids, we knew nothing about his inheritance of these diseases. The disease that has disabled him, our daughter and 2 of our grandkids causes a lot of pain, deformity and disability. The other disease is potentially deadly and nearly killed my husband twice. We don't know yet if he has passed on this second disease. Also, when I was pregnant with our third child, I was very sick and I was counseled to abort the baby to save my own life. That baby is now a 23 year old college grad who has recently started his own businessand I am quite healthy. I thank God for all our kids and all of our grandkids. They are all beautiful treasures that God chose to gift us with. Yes, it has been difficult watching our daughter's struggles with pain and disability, but God has used these things to develop her character. She is a hard worker and has the gift of mercy and she is an eager servant, just like her precious Dad. It has broken her heart to learn that 2 of her kids also inherited the disease. We've all had our hearts broken over these diagnoses. We have since learned that the gene that carries the defect is a dominant one. The disease has been expensive as well. She grew up seeing neurologists and orthopedists and physical therapists. She's had orthotics and surgery. Now, her daughters arre going through the same things, wearing orthotics by day and splints by night. But, we always thank God for all He's given and done for us. If I had it to do all over again, knowing what I know now, I would still give birth to each of my kids and my daughter and her husband feel the same way about their kids.
