When one grows fat - it means not only fat physically, but it means fat spiritually, i.e., the good life in basically all spheres, it means we don't suffer on this earth in any way - financially, spiritually, economically, etc, etc, it means we think we have "everything", including the Gospel.
Who has military bases all over the world? Including 17 (at last count) in the Middle East, many in Europe, many in Africa (that not many people are aware of), who has missiles/nuclear weaponry that can defeat Iran with one press of the button? Who controls the world's economy? Who controls the world politically - who says what goes and what doesn't? Who controls the world banks? Who controls the world's agriculture etc? The EU? I think not - the EU is a pitiful excuse for Mystery Babylon as it has too many disagreements and has the military might of an ant. I'm sorry, I'm just not a patriotic type person and I'm definitely NOT attached to this world in any way - if Mystery Babylon is who I think it is - then that harlot will definitely ride the beast as the Bible depicts it.
Take a look at the Nicholas Sarkozy and who he is aligned with. Take a look at Angela Merkel and see who she is aligned with. Take a look at Tony Blair and see who he was aligned with - Brown just doesn't want to make it so obvious - yet.
IMO those who are looking to the EU are going to be sorely deceived - but then that's what the Antichrist and his one world system and religion are going to do.
Now we can argue who/what is Mystery Babylon until the cows come home - but I think the Scripture should have the final say - and believe me - it says what it says, whether we like it or not. And my stance on this is that I'm not patriotic or attached to any nation on this earth - including my own - I'm a born and bred South African and South Africa and it's New Age Socialist government ***** - it's brought in abortion, gay marriage, it has given criminals free reign, it's hedonistic, it is tied to the church in the way that it speaks of God, but it's heart is removed from God, it's communist, it's money mad, it's just sick to the core - that's why I cannot and will not be patriotic - I wil only be patriotic to those who are christians and whose will is aligned to the will of God. One good thing about South Africa now is that we have freedom of speech to voice our opinions and disagree with the government - we aren't jailed nor do we have our voices taken away if we hold differing views. I see myself as a visitor here on this earth - a person in a world gone mad, a person in world that is clearly deceived and a world that is clearly looking for its "Saviour" and the Bible tells us that Saviour will come in on his white horse with a bow in his hand - which depicts he'll be "Mr Nice Guy" and many people won't see him for who he is (basically becase they'll be looking elsewhere for him) - he'll have "all the answers" and he'll bring world "peace". Then when the red horse enters - he'll lose the "Mr Nice guy" act and people will begin to see him for who he really is.
