I know what most think about Jack Van Impe, and we share the same view, but unfortuantely we were at a family members house who thinks he's the bees knees. A dvd was put on where Jack and the delightful Rexella were explaining about the end of the world on 21st December 2012. He was talking about Mother Shipton (a witch) and saying she definately believed the bible as her predictions were so accurate. Also a witch called the Sybil who made accurate predictions. He then went on to say that these people really knew the Word of God and he was supporting them :doh
Then he went on to champion Nostadamus and we got up and left. My point is, what on earth is this man doing? The family member concerned told us we were on "dodgy ground" for not believing what Jack says. So I thought I'd post here to get some common sense. I cant understand why this 2012 thing has circulated among the christian world, when it has stemmed from unbelievers. :scratch
Just one of many reasons why we have restrictions on certain Christian speakers on this board.

so-blessed - Just for further confirmation, you are the spiritually sane one. :bible :hug

If you happened to notice, do you remember what was the name of the DVD? No worries if you don't, I'm just curious.

It sounds like it might be his new 2012 video...I never watched it, don't have it, and don't listen to him, but I just did a little Internet search and it sounds like that's it.

So-blessed, I would recommend Dr. Mark Hitchcock's book 2012, The Bible and the End of the World. I saw it recommended it here and read it, and it would be perfect for your family member. Good Christian perspective on the 2012 thing.

Yes, I'm sure it's that 2012 DVD he is *forever* promoting on his show. :ohno

I used to watch him years ago when I first got saved. The more I grew in Christ, the less I watched him. :shocked I had no idea he was so far out! Wrong, wrong, wrong!

In Luke chapter 4: 9-11 Satan himself quotes Psalm 91:11,12 . So applying Mr. Van Impe's logic - Satan "really knows the Word of God" and hence worthy of support??? :scratch
Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh but I find his rationale to be dubious at best.

Wow, sadly, Jack has gone off the deep end. He used to stand up against Roman Catholics and other false teachings, but now defending a witch and talking about 2012? :scratch

:agree I used to like him, but I think he is losing it. :sad

I watch Jack. If nothing else, he does show some really interesting headlines and gives out information we would never otherwise hear about.
He is Belgium and I've found out that Belgium is, or was, a predominantly Roman Catholic country. I've noticed lately that he's very verbal about condemning false teaching among protestant churches, but he seems to be in awe of the rcc and its 'pope'. I love the catholic people, but I recognize and hate the heresy's practiced by the rcc. Jack no longer says a word against the heresy's of the rcc. I can't help but think that either he has become a member of the rcc or that he's starting to lose his focus on Jesus. I know he has the Bible memorized, but he seems to be ignoring what those verses actually mean.
One of the end times prophecies is that in the last days many would fall away from the faith giving heed to the seducing spirits and the doctrines of devils. The rcc is full of devil inspired doctrines. Somehow, Jack appears to be a person who fits this profile.
I suggest that Jack's program is still valuable for the information garnered from the headlines while everything Jack says should be weighed against scripture. And that we pray for Jack that he comes back to the True Light.
