Verisimilitude
August 17th, 2010, 11:20 AM
I saw a video in which Van Impe was defending the Catholic Catechism and the teachings of Mary.
I cannot find any reason to defend the catechism of the rcc but Mary is totally different. I don't recall her speaking much in the NT but what she did say was profound. I recall these two things in particular:
Luke 1:38 Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.
She put herself at God's service. The next was even more profound, speaking of Jesus, she said:
John 2:5 "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it."
If all the world would follow these 7 words, we wouldn't be in the mess we are now.
As for Jack, all I can say is he needs a lot of people praying for him to get back on the straight path with the narrow gate. I'm adding him to my prayer list and I hope you will do the same.

I can't believe that people don't watch him because of date setting..wowowo..every Christian board I go on they are date setting..and when the date comes and goes without the rapture happening ..they just say ..we are just watching.
Their unaccountable responses to their date settings show their lack of credibility.

Van Impe wasn't agreeing with what she said according to scripture, but he agreed with the aberrant Catholic teachings regarding Mary. I didn't phrase that correctly.

Belgium at one time was a catholic country. I don't know if it is now, but I think that must in part be influencing Jack. I don't understand why Jack is so enamored with the rcc considering the myriad of false doctrines they practice and spread.
I'm familiar with catholics who think they're honoring Jesus when they honor and pray to Mary since she is Jesus' mother. Over and over I remind them that not once did Jesus ever refer to her as mother. It just goes over their heads. If they would stop thinking of her as a deity and start thinking of her as a good and faithful servant of the Lord, they could learn much from what the Bible teaches about her life. But rather than do as she did and put theirselves at God's service, they choose to serve her thinking they're serving God, totally ignoring the Jeremiah scripture about the "queen of heaven".
They really live their lives with blinders on and you know what the Bible says about that, "when the blind lead the blind, they both end up in a ditch".

In recent years, Jack has been very Catholic sympathetic. That is why I stopped watching his programs. This also is the reason why I stopped watching him as well, he is quick to point out false teachings like replacement theology, that some evangelical Christians hold, but he mentions nothing at the false teachings of the roman catholic church that has mislead countless millions.... Replacement theology is a bad teaching but as far as I know (holding that view point) won't send a person to hell, but the false teachings of the catholic church absolutely will send a soul to hell.

A sort-of, partial "theory" about Jack's Catholic references.
I seem to recall that Jack began making comments about John Paul II and what a "great man of God" he was around the time of some major geopolitical shifts that occurred, in significant part, due to Ronald Reagan and John Paul II and their separate "stands": John Paul II stood by Poland's Lech Walesa and the worker's union which confronted communism and the USSR, leading (in part), to the downfall of the USSR and the bringing down of the Berlin Wall. Reagan took a stand for "Star Wars" (the strategic defense initiative that supposedly would have intercepted Russian ICBMs), causing the Soviet Union to spend enough money on defense to ruin them financially. When John Paul II died, more than two million people went to Rome to honor him, clogging the rail system. John Paul II had approached a major Jewish temple in Rome and tried to repair the rift between Catholicism and the Jews that had been further aggravated during WWII.
Many folks were impressed with the positive political works of John Paul II.
As head of a huge religious organization with members worldwide, the Pope is seen as one speaking with the "voice of a lamb" that does not represent the Lamb we know. JPII was a major devotee of the "Mary" that appeared in Fatima. When he bent down in his vehicle to touch a little girl wearing a Fatima emblem, it caused (in his opinion) the bullet fired by Mechmed Alli Adjia to not be fatal. JPII supposedly had a large red "M" embroidered in his robes and the assasination attempt may have been the "third prophecy" of Fatima or Garabandal (I forget which).

As I stated in another thread, JVI simply will not let go of jpii. Of course now we have "miracles" associated (supposedly but we know they are not true) with him after he died.
This week on JVI's show they are showing a picture of jpii and that he stood for Biblical "truth".
JPII was the organizer of the 1986 Assisi conference where muslims, animists, etc. etc. etc. were all invited as "they prayed to the same god".
MODS I HOPE THE SOURCE IS OK .... REMOVE IF NOT - THANK YOU (I don't know, it *may* be an RCC site?)
If somebody has a better source than the one I found please use - thank you

Further, jpii kissed the koran in a Syrian mosque in 1999, the most antichrist (in clear doctrine) religious book on the face of the Earth. Jack skipped over that one.

Futher, jpii attributed to Mary saving his life in the 1981 assassination attempt, and honored an idol of her by putting one of the bullets in the idol's crown.
And we know that jpii was on board with Mary as co-redemptrix. JVI called her the "mother of God". God has no mother. Mary was the human vessel by which Jesus came to this Earth. She did not create Him. "mother of God" is a term used to promote the Marian cult by improper and inaccurate doctrine.
And JVI then quoted the Catechism as a reference but, as usual, conveniently skipped over Catechism 841 and its great error.
I had had hopes for JVI as he seemed to be improving lately but he won't let this go. Pray that his eyes are opened and that he stop promoting this one-world-religion pope (often redundant).

Yes he definitely started doing it many years ago. He always made me wince when he kept trying to make Jeremiah 50-52 the USA, in clear avoidance of Jeremiah 50:1 which makes it abundantly clear that it is regarding Chaldean Babylon.
You couldn't make the USA into Chaldea by any stretch of the imagination (well, I guess Joseph Smith taught that Jackson County, Missouri was the Garden of Eden, soooooooo ....).
