What, exactly, is a True Christian?

Maybe that clears up any misconception. My references to the "love" verses were in reference to what is a "Christian" or what is the "mark of a Christian," and were not meant to answer the question "How are you saved?"

Do you want to know what the Bible says salvation (being able to go to heaven) is??

The gospel of going to heaven because Jesus loved us misses the point. We don't go to heaven because of loving Him ..


We come to the cross as wretched sinners. We need to repent of our sins to the Savior and ask Him to be our Lord.

It was the BLOOD of Jesus Christ shed "IN ATONEMENT" for our sins that gives us eternal life.

Until we come to the foot of the cross and recognize our sinfuless and NEED for the Savior, Jesus.. we are not saved by love alone.

His love WAS manifested TO us in that He died in our place.. for us.

see?? THAT is how we receive eternal life.

There are no works on our part to do it.

The gospel of love doesn't save.

The gospel of the shed blood of Jesus on the cross for our sins that saved.. and our acceptance of Him..

"We love, because He FIRST LOVED us." (I'm too tired to look up the reference). Nevertheless, we are saved by the cleansing blood of Christ! I know this. Love is a byproduct of that cleansing. Just to clarify.

It is not love that saves.. God did love us so much that he gave His son Jesus.. who died for sinners.

The true gospel.

night Hope.. you must see that rituals, by anyone, get us no where, and no man stands on high ground before the cross.

That is why.. no matter what "religion" one comes from.. the Holy Spirit given to us once we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior WILL convict us that this is not right..

we are to flee from sin.. even if man has made it look pretty shiney and good..

I just left a SBC church of 6,000 because of mystic practices.... (I was not always a SBC BTW)

The Holy Spirit within me showed me this horrible false worship
