Dear Moderators:

I did not have the intent of promoting . I was merely putting into words what has been said to me by both non-catholics and catholics because I will not trash either churches .

For a specific example: When I still considered myself catholic I was told "I was not a Christian" and that the Roman Catholic Church was "garbage" and "satanic".

For a specific example: When I considered myself no longer a catholic I was that "I was going to hell".

There is more than this but I think I protrayed what has gone on. It has caused me great pain and much confusion and many tears.

This was in response to being asked what I meant by heresy hunters and rabid catholics. I most certainly did want to leave the impression that I considered the bulk of Chirstains to fall under my rather (admitedly) un-flatering descriptions. But it sums up my experience and what led me to my OP.

Yes, I understand how much it hurts to leave behind your church. Your church can become almost like a loved family member that somehow became so dysfunctional, so toxic, that in order not to be dragged down into thier dark pit, you just must walk away. You might check up on them once in a while to see how they are doing, but stay the distance.

I hurt for this church. I hurt for some friends who are still in there with their young children being exposed to this. I hurt because this is the Lord's house albeit only a brick building.

I know there's a lot of weird stuff going on. One church I attended played Ted Nugent in between the worship and the sermon. I thought that was maybe just a "tad over the top"! They were showing a Power Point of all the guys on their "hogs" to Teddy's "Motor City Madhouse"! (Seeker sensitive gone wild!) I have heard they ditched the bikes, and now they're into horses! The problem with the seeker sensitive movement is "where do you go from here" ... ? The envelope is already pushed to the extreme.

Well, at any rate, I really am so sorry to hear this. When I look back in my own life at relationships that once were, but are no more, it still hurts.
