Wow. Whatever happened to listening to God? Catholicism and outright paganism starting to get intertwined? I mean this is coming from the pope in a public statement.

Unfortunatly many people listen to everything the pope says. They beleive the pope is the Vicar Of Christ, which is not true

Even stranger, he said we need to obey the voice of the earth. This fellow gets more interesting all the time.

He pretty much dismisses the first 5 chapters of the bible in his speech as well.

So ,obeying he voice of the earth is more important than obeying the Word of Christ? That he even said those words tells you who he serves.

Is anyone else concerned about the very radical shifts the Pope seems to be making lately? It seems like he is trning fully secular to me....thats statement earlier this month about Churches that...even though they can trace thier roots... (as if that was a requirement of the Bible) they still can't be a true Church because they don't believe in him....that's strange....No we need to listen to the Earth?

I didn't miss the factthat while the EU is becoming more and more involved in the Middle East...when the Italian Prime Minster went to Israel he was accompanied by a high Vatican Official...Mixing politics and religion especially in these times is very dangerous business....

This is from the link in the OP:
The pontiff, speaking as he was concluding his holiday in northern Italy, also said that while there is much scientific proof to support evolution, the theory could not exclude a role by God.

A role by God?

It isn't new for the Vatican though, and the Vatican wants to ensure their slice of Jerusalem when this "peace treaty" is drawn up and they divide God's land. Peres, Arafat and the Vatican came to an agreement and entered into a "treaty" on this matter in the 90's.
