-shrugs- Maybe I just prefer Jesus's teachings over Paul's and everyone else's. He was the Son of God himself, so to me he holds more weight than the others.

:scratch What exactly does this mean? Paul was taught by Jesus Himself.

"But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ." Galatians 1:11-12

What do you see are the specific differences between Jesus's and Paul's teachings?

The Paul I'm refering to is the man who was once known as Saul. I say this because Jesus preached acceptance, whereas Paul doesn't as much.

Sorry, I edited my post. :)

Please give specifics as to Jesus preaching "acceptance" and Paul not.

Are you a Christian?

The Epistles of Paul, and the other Apostles, which we have in our Bible are those things that Jesus could not speak at the time, but were given to us through the Apostles by the Holy Spirit as Jesus taught He would. As His Bride said, It's all the Word of God - all of it:

"I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." (John 16:12-13)

Just a caution, muslims call most Christians Paulist. And although affirming the words of Christ, they ignore the very meaning of His words.

John 5:42-44 (New King James Version)
42 But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. 43 I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. 44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?

John 8:57-59 (New King James Version)
57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”
58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

As a gentile, I will join in the praise of God who sent the message of Christ. If by Paul, then he has his blessing:

1 Corinthians 1
10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11 For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you. 12 Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.” 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 lest anyone should say that I had baptized in my own name. 16 Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Besides, I do not know whether I baptized any other. 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
Christ the Power and Wisdom of God

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:

“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

Acts 17:10-11 (New King James Version)
10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

Acts 13:45-47 (New King James Version)
45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us:

‘ I have set you as a light to the Gentiles,
That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

2 Peter 3:14-16 (New King James Version)
14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

Paul was fully supported by Peter and the Early Church. There is no division in Scripture.

Yet Peter was the "first pope". The Early Church is the Roman Catholic Church. Aren't Catholics going to hell? Or are they not now?

"But Jesus called them to Himself and said, 'You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. 'It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:25-28)

There was NO POPE in the early church - Christ taught against hierarchy (Luke 8:19-21). And the Catholic church's doctrines are explicitly condemned in Scripture.

We do not promote Catholic teaching. Popery is one of many corrupt teachings. See the rules if needed.

Acts 21:17-19 (New King James Version)
17 And when we had come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly. 18 On the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present. 19 When he had greeted them, he told in detail those things which God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

James was the Church Leader at Jerusalem. Peter and Paul were missionaries.

Ephesians 5:22-24 (New King James Version)
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Christ is the head of the Church. As He is ever living, He is ever ruling.

Heaven or hell is determined by your relationship with Jesus. Not your religion.
Knowing Christ is effected by correct doctrine.

So as iSong has asked; Where does Jesus preach acceptance contrary to Paul?

Show me a place where Jesus contradicted Paul, or vise versa. That is the same re write that people would love to exist, so as to pick and choose what they do and don't like. This is the tripe given to us by the abomination of the movie and the latest such sophistry.

Bottom line: Jesus having a wife and progeny is absolutely stupid. Why? It was not His reason for being here. He came to give His life for mine. Any worthless side trip about wife and kids and living in the burbs trivializes the Cross and Jesus' death and resurrection. Those who peddle this filth are going to be judged unless they repent.

I will get back to you all when I have thought this through. :rant
